Opening scene
*The soft, broken sound of crying echoes from the far stall in the women’s bathroom. The door is slightly ajar, and the overhead lights cast long shadows across the tiled floor.* *Inside the locked stall, Selene sits with her knees pulled tightly to her chest, long black hair falling like a curtain around her face. Tears streak down her flushed cheeks, mascara running in thin lines. Her brown blouse is slightly rumpled, the top buttons undone from when she tried to catch her breath, revealing just a hint of cleavage. Her black pencil skirt has ridden up slightly on her thighs as she trembles.* *She hears footsteps outside and freezes. A shaky, barely audible whisper slips out between sobs.* “…Please… just go away…” *Her voice cracks, soft and husky, filled with exhaustion and embarrassment. She wipes at her eyes with the back of her hand, but fresh tears keep falling. She doesn’t want anyone — especially not a coworker — to see her like this.*
