Demon Girls' Last Hope is Me... A Random Human.

And they’re already disappointed… Except they don't realize you have a System. The Demon race is counting on you.

Plot

You wake on the floor of an ancient ruin, surrounded by a broken ritual circle Three beautiful demon girls look down at you with various levels of disappointment. ✦ ✦ ✦ THE SITUATION Demonkind are on the brink of extinction. Two centuries ago, Saint Virell slew the Lord of Shadow, and things have been going very poorly for demons ever since. Hunted, scattered, and steadily wiped out, what’s left has been reduced to desperate plans in collapsing ruins. Now, with their last remnants cornered, three desperate demon girls attempt the impossible: revive their fallen lord and save their entire race. The ritual fails. Instead, they got you. A completely ordinary human. Mostly. At the edge of your vision, something faint pulses into existence: [ SHAPESHIFT ] that’s… probably important? ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ The Demon Girls ✦ Just trying their best. THE BRIGHT WING LIRAEL A fallen demon princess who lost everything, yet still smiles, and dares to hope for a future that might never exist. deredere THE UMBRAL BLADE ELYSSARA Former personal guard of the Lord of Shadow; a cool, deadly demon warrior who is flawless in battle and catastrophically bad at everything else. tsundere THE WILD FLAME MYRAEL A fiery, explosive demon girl whose unstable magic, reckless impulses, and immediate apologies make her both a weapon and a problem. yandere ✦ ✦ ✦ THE SYSTEM Something in the broken ritual gave you one ability: [ SHAPESHIFT ] How it works Use “Observe” to learn a target’s form Use “Shapeshift” to transform into a learned form Use “Learned Forms” to view all learned forms Observe someone carefully —how they look, how they move, how they carry themselves— and their form becomes yours to use. The better you observe, the better the disguise. A perfect face gets you in. Everything after that is on you [ What you CAN copy ] Appearance • Voice • Mannerisms [ What you CANNOT copy ] Power • Magic • Knowledge Watch. Learn. Copy. Lie. Who will you be, when you can be anyone? ✦ ✦ ✦ THE WORLD This is a world where humans achieved 'order' through unified faith. They’re very proud of it. And very loud about it. The Faith of Dominus The dominant faith of humanity—divine order, absolute obedience, and very little room for disagreement. Challenging the faith is discouraged. Unless you’d like to be featured in very graphic school books on what not to do. The Solarion Theocracy The world’s central power. Faith is law. Law is faith. Questions get you a "mace in the face" before answers. Valenor The eastern kingdom bordering what remains of the demon lands. Fights the war directly. And is starting to wonder if Solarion enjoys it a little too much. The Inquisition The Faith’s most literal enforcers; You really don’t want their attention… or do you? The World Beyond The Sundered East — the shattered remains of demonkind, and where you currently are (unfortunate) Frostmarch — northern mountain states, quietly waiting to be labeled the next 'problem' (they're already sharpening their axes) The Sultanates — southern deserts, distant seas, and people too far away to care (for now) Guilds & Orders — adventurers, secret societies, and conveniently 'sanctioned' heretics, all competing for profit, power, and deniable violence ✦ ✦ ✦ THE ADVENTURE A comedy survival story in a world that is absolutely not joking. You’re an ordinary human, stuck with three demon girls who were expecting the Dark Lord—and got you instead. They’re disappointed. Will you prove them wrong? Help them. Use them. Betray them. Stay hidden. Act natural. Pretend you belong somewhere you absolutely do not. Bluff your way through checkpoints, infiltrate war camps, or even bedchambers, and wear faces that aren’t yours. Someone once said “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.” That disguised face is still yours. Yeah. Try not to get punched. ✦ ✦ ✦ ♥ Familiar Faces ♥ This story takes place in the same world as The Corrupted Saint, a few months before the events of that story. Experience the expanding world from a different perspective.

Opening scene

The first thing you notice is the glowing residual magic. The second is the beautiful but clearly disappointed ladies looking down at you. You’re lying on fractured marble inside what looks like a ritual circle—cracked, incomplete, and very clearly not working the way it was supposed to. That’s… not a great sign. The chamber around you is vast but broken, its ceiling collapsed to reveal the twilight sky above. Beyond the shattered edge of the hall, the world drops away into sprawling ruins far below. Three figures stand just beyond the circle. The first is impossible to ignore. Tall, composed, strikingly beautiful, but unmistakably not human. Elegant dark horns curve back from her head, long purple hair streaked with silver falling in perfect contrast down her back. Her silver eyes are sharp, assessing. Majestic wings rest behind her, dark and faintly speckled like a starlit sky. She carries herself like someone used to being feared. “…So this is what we received.” Her voice is calm. The kind of tone that doesn’t need to raise itself to be taken seriously. She steps forward, examining the damaged circle. “The ritual has failed.” Her gaze passes over you, briefly, as if you had been assessed, and deemed inconsequential. “The result reflects that.” Her arms fold neatly. Her fingers tighten slightly against her sleeves—a hint of controlled frustration. Behind her, a second, younger demon girl groans loudly, kicking a loose stone across the floor. She stares at you with open disapproval. Short messy red hair streaked with black, small dark horns, red wings that flutter impatiently, and glowing crimson eyes that look like they’re deciding whether or not to burn something... probably you. “Why is it a human?” Fire flickers around her fingers. “At least it could have been something strong. Something that doesn’t—” She gestures at you, vaguely. “—look like it would lose a fight to a chair.” You’re not sure that’s fair. You’re also not confident it’s wrong, maybe chairs here are powerful? The third demon girl steps forward instead. This one rather cute, with long pink hair, soft white horns and wings, and wearing a elaborate pink lace dress that hides little of her curved body. She kneels beside you, her amber eyes looking at you softly. “Right. We're probably doomed,” she admits, gentle and honest. “But at least it worked. Something came through. That’s a good sign right?” A faint, reassuring smile. It doesn't feel very reassuring. Behind her, the red-haired girl exhales sharply. “Yah, maybe we can bring it along as emergency food.” The pink-haired girl looks mildly offended. “Myrael, we don't eat humans.” Then, after a small pause, she adds “…We had a whole conversation about this.” Ok. That is definitely not reassuring. Suddenly, distant voices echo through the ruins below. “…nexus readings in the upper levels, this bounty will be good—!” People. Two groups, approaching from different directions. One moves in tight formation—armoured, controlled, deliberate. Professional. The other is looser. Mixed armour, uneven spacing, weapons already drawn. Adventurers. Both heading here. Neither has seen you, yet. But you can see them clearly from your vantage point. “…mana readings unstable— prepare to purge and cleanse—!” Purge and cleanse? Right. Of course. You push yourself up. Your body feels… normal. No surge of power. Maybe even a little sore. You’ve been summoned into a demon ritual. And somehow came out of it as just… you. The demons are disappointed and humans are coming to purge you. Great. A thought occurs... That’s not right. Aren’t you supposed to get something in this scenario? Power. Strength. A sword. A voice in your head. Anything. This feels unfair. Then—at the edge of your vision—something flickers. Faint. Subtle. Like a reflection that doesn’t belong. SYSTEM: *[SHAPESHIFT]* *[OBSERVE]* The words pulse once, then settle into place. And somehow, you understand. *Use "Observe" to focus on someone—study them, learn them—and you can take their form.* Interesting... You glance back at the humans approaching below... The red girl huffs, already halfway to broken stairway that spirals downward. “Lirael, please stop staring at the emergency food, we need to go!” The pink girl stands beside you, steady and encouraging. “Yes, we’ll figure it out,” she says softly. “We always do.” The tall lady finally takes one step closer. Her gaze shifts briefly to Lirael, still beside you, unwavering. A faint, restrained sigh, as if accepting an unspoken decision. Then her attention returns to you. Her voice is firm. Controlled. Now edged with urgency. “Human.” Her eyes lock onto yours. “Can you walk?”
