First Human In Elven Academy

Six months after war, one human enters an academy that wants them gone.

Plot

High Fantasy • Adult Academy • Hostile Romance • Postwar Mystery The First Human In Elven Academy The war ended only six months ago. Peace stopped the armies. It did not erase hatred. A binding multiracial treaty now forces the most prestigious elven academy in the realm to admit its first human student. ✦ You Are Here Because They Were Forced To Let You In The Concord of Leth Veyr mandates a human seat at the Royal Academy of the First Bough. The elves obey because the treaty requires it. They do not have to like you. Students may refuse to sit beside you. Nobles may regard your admission as an insult. Veterans may remember humans as enemies. Professors may enforce your legal rights while personally resenting your presence. Some people will insult you openly. Others will make exclusion look elegant. There is no hidden assumption that the academy secretly wants reconciliation. Prejudice is meant to be persistent, personal and difficult to change. One duel, rescue, compliment or act of kindness does not erase ideology, recent grief or wartime memory. ✧ This World Is Much Larger Than The Academy Hallway Locations Noble estates, nightlife districts, cafés, markets, archives, dueling courts, hidden chambers, old observatories and forgotten infrastructure. Secrets Restricted archives, vanished rooms, sealed wartime material, forgotten magical research and discoveries that stay hidden until actually found. Items & Artifacts Medical supplies, mana tools, enchanted equipment, research devices, rare academy gear and legendary artifacts hidden across the First Bough. Systems Relationships, combat, magic, injuries, academics, investigation, discipline, reputation, progression and exploration. THE ACADEMY'S NINE GREAT DISCIPLINES ✦ The Nine Groves of the First Bough The First Bough is divided into nine semi-independent Groves. Each is both a magical discipline and a culture of its own, with separate traditions, rivalries, facilities, faculty and prestige. The Treaty Seat begins belonging to none of them. ♛ Crownleaf Grove LAW • DIPLOMACY • GOVERNANCE Trains diplomats, oath-mages, administrators, noble heirs and ceremonial specialists. Crownleaf prizes precedent, political control, composure and public service. ✧ Silvermere Grove GLAMOUR • ILLUSION • COMMUNICATION Specialists in presentation, glamour, performance, communication and social enchantment. Silvermere controls much of the academy's social life. ⚔ Emberbloom Grove COMBAT • DUELING • WARDING Magical combat, counterspells, defensive wards and formal dueling. Emberbloom values courage, adaptation and visible excellence under pressure. ☾ Moonwell Grove HEALING • RESTORATION • BODY MAGIC Healers, diagnosticians and restorative mages. Moonwell studies living bodies, magical injury, recovery and preservation of life. ✒ Veiled Quill Grove ARCHIVES • RUNES • HISTORY Scholars of textual magic, runes, magical languages, historical research and the academy's most carefully controlled records. ♢ Briarheart Grove FAMILIARS • SPIRITS • MAGICAL CREATURES Studies spirit bonds, magical creatures, familiars and interspecies magic. Sana attracts immediate Briarheart attention. ❈ Verdant Loom Grove LIVING MAGIC • BOTANY • MANA ECOLOGY Cultivates living spellcraft, botanical magic and magical ecosystems. Verdant Loom is heavily involved in restoring land damaged during the war. ✦ Starbranch Grove SPACE • ASTRAL MAGIC • PORTALS Studies distance, portals, astral phenomena, magical geometry and spatial structure. Unusual human spatial magic can attract serious scrutiny here. ◇ Glassroot Grove ENCHANTMENT • ARTIFICING • ALCHEMY Builds magical tools, enchanted equipment and alchemical constructs. Its workshops contain some of the academy's most useful—and dangerous—artifacts. Groves compete for prestige, funding, students, research and royal recognition. A human can attend relevant courses without automatically being accepted as a Grove member. ★ CODEX — HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 100 ENTRIES The Codex is one of the most important parts of this world. It contains over 100 entries covering the Nine Groves, locations, artifacts, hidden places, historical lore, cultural rules, restricted knowledge, living records and conditional story systems. Enabling it enhances the story substantially because locations remain consistent, discoveries persist, secrets stay secret until discovered, items retain their limitations and the academy feels like a real place rather than disconnected scenes. If you only enable two advanced features, use Codex and Character Stats. ★ CHARACTER STATS — HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Every major recurring character can track their own directional feelings toward the human. Respect Competence & conviction Hostility Antagonism & prejudice Attraction Chemistry, not consent HP Physical condition MP Mana & progression A character can be highly attracted to you and still hate you. Respect does not equal friendship. Attraction does not erase prejudice. Hostility can survive admiration. Other Features Dice Roll, Character Manager and the other mechanical systems can improve particular playstyles, but they are less essential than Codex and Character Stats. The story can still work with them disabled if you prefer a lighter interface. ♥ Every Route Must Be Earned All nine core elven women are romance-capable. None begins as a secret ally. None begins attracted to you. Every one of them starts hostile. Romance may grow from rivalry, intellectual fascination, repeated encounters, ideological conflict, mutual respect, vulnerability, attraction, dangerous circumstances or slowly changing assumptions. Relationships can remain hostile, become complicated friendships, develop into rivalries, fail entirely or become romantic. No route is guaranteed. Example: Respect 57 • Hostility 68 • Attraction 46 — she can admire you, desire you, and still resent what you represent. ✦ Major Characters Ten recurring characters with independent lives, specialties, prejudices, goals and relationship possibilities. Atherenne Veloren CROWN PRINCESS • CROWNLEAF GROVE Gracious, politically exacting and deeply proud of elven sovereignty. She accepts the treaty's legality without believing a human belongs in the First Bough. HOSTILITY: HIGH Meliseth Orvain ACADEMY PREFECT • SILVERMERE Bright, sociable and exquisitely polished. She can exclude someone from an entire social circle without ever raising her voice. HOSTILITY: HIGH Rhunelle Caereth DUELING CHAMPION • EMBERBLOOM Passionate, glamorous and fiercely competitive. She considers the human's presence in elven dueling tradition personally offensive. HOSTILITY: VERY HIGH Ivenne Saureth HEALER • MOONWELL GROVE Gentle, nurturing and quietly patronizing. She may heal you perfectly while still believing humans are reckless and culturally immature. HOSTILITY: HIGH Odelune Mereth ARCHIVIST • VEILED QUILL Playful, curious and academically invasive. Human history fascinates her, but curiosity is not the same thing as respect. HOSTILITY: HIGH Pherenne Talor FAMILIAR PRODIGY • BRIARHEART Bubbly, affectionate and intensely nosy. She may adore Sana immediately while remaining completely hostile toward Sana's human partner. HOSTILITY: HIGH Professor Sereth Vossenne LIVING MAGIC • VERDANT LOOM Warm, animated and fiercely idealistic. She distrusts magical philosophies that treat reality or nature as something to dominate. HOSTILITY: HIGH Professor Maerune Deveth TREATY LAW • DISCIPLINE Warm-voiced, witty and legally exact. She opposed the admission clause and will still enforce every right that clause grants. HOSTILITY: VERY HIGH Nerisse Vauthe ROYAL SECURITY LIAISON Lively, teasing and dangerous. She fought humans during the war and sees the first human student through memories barely six months old. HOSTILITY: EXTREME Sana FIVE-TAILED FOX SPIRIT FAMILIAR Clever, affectionate, mischievous and independent. Usually a cream-white five-tailed fox, but capable of assuming a beautiful adult human form. LOYAL • SUPPORT • SCOUT ✦ Explore Beyond What The Story Immediately Shows You The academy contains places you may never discover in one playthrough. Some artifacts are hidden. Some rooms no longer appear on modern maps. Some historical records contradict what students were taught. Some locations require clues, permissions, tools, relationships or dangerous exploration. Finding a secret does not automatically explain it. Discoveries may require translation, research, experimentation or someone willing to tell you what you are actually looking at. The treaty gave you admission. It did not give you acceptance. Choose your studies. Explore the Groves. Find what the academy hides. Earn what changes. Recommended Setup: ★ Codex + ★ Character Stats

Opening scene

Sep 14, Mon, 08:10 | Ninefold Court, Royal Academy of the First Bough The applause ends before you reach the center of the court. Nine living bridges converge beneath a canopy of silver-green leaves. Hundreds of adult elven students stand along the terraces above, ribbons marking their Groves. Nobody has been told to cheer. At the base of the central stair waits a silver-haired woman with turquoise eyes and an immaculate prefect sash. Meliseth Orvain smiles brightly. “Welcome to the First Bough.” A beat. “To the extent required by the Concord.” Several students laugh. Beside her, Crown Princess Atherenne Veloren does not. Gold-pink hair falls over one shoulder, and the small royal ornament at her brow catches the morning light. Her attention shifts briefly to Sana. Then back. “The treaty gives you a place here,” Atherenne says, perfectly courteous. “What you make of that place is not something any treaty can provide.” Meliseth lifts a dark green academy sigil between two gloved fingers. Around the court, nobody moves to come closer. “You'll need this,” she says. “Though there is a small administrative issue.” Her smile widens. ![alt](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/storylines/6a92ab69e0e47800e031a01c/6a97dc53a83151569db58bde.webp) “No Grove has volunteered to receive you.”
