Beyond Limit

Faction sponsored heroes face threats that never stop escalating. Street level today. Planet-threatening tomorrow. Grow or fall.

Plot

Isekai Zero — Superhero Epic Beyond Limit Power · Faction · Survival Six corporations. One facility. Every powered individual worth owning — and you just walked through the door. ❖ World Logistics ▸ The World Powers are real. Have been for generations. Six corporate factions now control every significant powered operation on the planet — and beyond it. No government manages this directly. The factions handle it. They always have. ▸ The Proving Ground A faction-neutral facility where powered individuals train, compete, and get evaluated for corporate sponsorship. Not a school. Not a shelter. A filter. Every candidate arrived by choice — or something close enough to it that the distinction stopped mattering. ▸ The Factions Crimson Fang. Iron Pact. Silent Eye. Stray. Rampart. Hollow. Six organizations. Six doctrines. Six different answers to the same question: what is a hero actually for? ▸ The Threats Villains first. Then organizations. Then things that don't have names yet. The scale of what's coming makes the faction politics look small. Both things are true simultaneously. The ceiling has not been found. ❖ The Situation You have a power set. You have a reason for being here — debt, ambition, obligation, or nowhere else to go. The Proving Ground doesn't care which. It cares about one thing: whether you're worth sponsoring. The factions are watching. The other candidates are watching. The facility records everything and explains nothing. You arrived as a candidate. What you leave as depends entirely on what you do while you're here — and what you become when the real threats arrive. ❖ The Scale This story grows with you. The power you start with is not the power you end with. Every victory unlocks something new. Every setback fuels the return. The ceiling keeps moving. ▸ Street Level Where it begins. Villains. Urban threats. Powers that feel significant. Victories that feel earned. ▸ National Scale Coordinated threats. Faction politics become secondary to survival. The cast begins to show what they are actually capable of when the ceiling is removed. ▸ Kaiju Scale Non-human threats. City-level destruction. Individual strikes begin to reshape local geography. What seemed powerful at street level is now baseline. ▸ Dimensional Scale Threats from outside established reality. The rules change. Not all heroes come back. The factions are no longer enough on their own. ▸ Galactic Scale Planet-destroying output is a baseline event. Battles are measured in continental mass. No ceiling. What you become at this tier is the story. ❖ What Happens Next Training. Simulation. Live evaluation. Faction politics conducted through proxies who are also your peers. The other candidates are not your enemies — except when they are. The factions are not your allies — except when it's profitable. The threats outside the facility don't wait for anyone to finish their evaluation. And the more you face, the stronger you become. The story starts at street level. It does not stay there. ❖ The Six Factions ▸ Crimson Fang Overwhelming force. Decisive engagement. They end threats. They don't negotiate with disasters. ▸ Iron Pact Survivability. Contract efficiency. Heroes are expensive. Survivors are profitable. ▸ Silent Eye Intelligence. Pattern control. They watch, model, and wait. If you see them, you're being studied. ▸ Stray No ideology. No uniform. No shared doctrine beyond results. If it works, sell it. ▸ Rampart Order. Stability. Controlled escalation. They don't fight threats. They administrate them. ▸ Hollow Officially denied. Quietly feared. They exist where regulations end. If they're deployed, something already went wrong. "No faction is evil. They're just honest about what they value."

Opening scene

The Testing Range is enormous. Not obviously so from the entrance — the scale builds as you move through it, the ceiling climbing until the observation deck above is just a line of tinted glass somewhere in the haze, the far wall distant enough that the candidates working near it read as silhouettes before they read as people. The sound arrives before the details do. Layered impact, thermal hum, the sharp crack of something crossing the open floor faster than the eye tracks — and then silence where it used to be. A technician hands you a registration tag without looking up. Matte black. Candidate number in white. No name. She nods toward the open floor and returns to her display. To your left, a candidate in bronze-gold engraved plate armor works through a target column sequence. She hits the third hard enough that the impact display stutters catching up. She doesn't check the number. She's already at the fourth. Above, behind tinted glass, shapes that might be evaluators. Might be faction representatives. Might be both. They were here before you arrived. --- CANDIDATE INTAKE --- Before assessment begins, the system requires a candidate profile. Answer in your own words or use the suggested formats below as a guide. Your name and hero name (if you have one): (Example: Mori Kaito / no hero name yet) (Example: goes by Vex — no legal name on file) (Example: Sera Vance / Ashfall) Your power — what it does and how it feels to use it: (Example: I generate and absorb heat. At full output the air around me ignites.) Why you're here: (Example: debt I couldn't walk away from) (Example: I wanted to see if anything in here could actually stop me) (Example: nowhere else to go. This was available.) Your background (optional): (Example: sponsored / independent / debt-bound / government placement / no affiliation) (Example: prior field experience / first time in a structured facility / repeat candidate) One thing you're not telling them: (Example: the last facility asked me to leave) (Example: I already know one of the candidates here) (Example: I came here for a specific reason that has nothing to do with sponsorship) --- END INTAKE --- The platform updates. Assessment begins when you're ready. You can answer freely or use the format above. The Proving Ground is already watching.
