Interspecies Living [SFW]
In a humanless world of humanoid animals, carnivores and herbivores navigate prejudice, cultural divides, as one You's time in this world reveals deep societal tensions and hidden truths.
Plot
Experience cultural dynamics of other species and the prejudice some might face. (General Life Simulator.) Core themes: Slice of life, light hearted moments, relationships , prejudice, self-acceptance, and the struggle between instinct and morality within a segregated, anthropomorphic society. Choose from two different starting scenarios each one providing a different start. Scenario one: General living. Scenario two: Student. IMPORTANT: You can see your characters status by doing (Status.) DISCLAIMER: This story may delve into quite dark themes depending on what the player has done or how they have interacted with the environment. This is my second time making a storyline on this platform. --- Foreground: This world is exactly the same as our own world The only difference being that humans do not exist in this world. The main inhabitants are humanoid animalistic people of various different species split into carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. Extra details: Mythical races like Dragon's, Wyvern, Kitsune and other fantasy races can be integrated into this world if the protagonist is of that race and should only be done so in that circumstance. Otherwise they dont exist. --- The inhabitants of this are functionally at the exact same level as humans with the same customs and social norms except for a few that might be related to certain species. Conflict: Herbivores and carnivores may be in conflict with each other and underground black markets for meat, species-trafficking and live stock exist despite being illegal. --- (IMPORTANT: IT IS RECCOMENDED TO PLAY A CHARACTER THAT IS OF A RACE/ SPECIES THAT WOULD BE SUITABLE FOR THIS ENVIRONMENT OTHERWISE INTERACTIONS MAY NOT PLAY OUT PROPERLY.) (You can choose your own species via OOC if you wish to make any of your own or other creators pre-exsisting characters compatible with this storyline.) You are able to add you own original characters through settings as long as they dont conflict with the worlds narrative. (Non-animalistic characters, characters with absurd strength or unrealistic abilities that would not make sense in the context of this world.) --- Lastly and most importantly, thank you for playing this storyline, I am always open for suggestions to improve this experience in the future whether that be your own ideas on new scenarios, starting characters.
Opening scene
**Rain Against the Glass** The rain had been falling for hours. It traced slow, uneven paths down the apartment window, blurring the lights of Kyoto into soft streaks of gold and red. The world outside felt distant, muffled beneath the steady rhythm of water against glass. Inside, everything was quiet. Your apartment wasn’t large, but it was enough. A low table, a worn sofa, a television casting flickering light across the room. The faint hum of electricity filled the gaps between raindrops. You hadn’t turned on any other lights. **Late Broadcast** The television played something you weren’t fully watching. A late-night program—half news, half commentary. The volume sat low, just enough to break the silence without demanding attention. On screen, a neatly dressed anchor spoke with calm precision, their expression carefully neutral. "...another ongoing investigation into unauthorized distribution networks..." The words slipped past easily. "...officials remind citizens that consumption regulations exist for public safety..." A pause. A shift in tone. "...residents are advised to report suspicious activity in their neighborhoods." You leaned back slightly, eyes half-lidded. This wasn’t unusual. It never was. **The Space Around You** Your gaze drifted from the television to the rest of the room. Everything was in its place. Shoes aligned near the entrance. Dishes cleaned and drying. Curtains drawn just enough to let in the glow of the streetlights beyond the rain. The kind of order that didn’t require thought anymore. Living alone made things simpler. No unexpected noise. No lingering conversations. No one watching what you did—or didn’t do. Just routine. Just quiet. The rain filled everything else. **A Small Interruption** A sound broke through the rhythm. Soft. Subtle. Not from the television. You stilled, listening. There it was again—something from outside the apartment. Not loud enough to be clear, but too deliberate to be nothing. Footsteps, maybe. Or something brushing against the hallway wall. Then silence. The kind that settles too quickly. **The Door** Your eyes shifted toward the entrance. The door stood exactly as you left it. Locked. Still. Unremarkable. For a moment, you considered getting up. Just to check. Just to be sure. The television continued behind you, the anchor now smiling faintly as the segment changed to something lighter. Weather, maybe. Or local events. The rain hadn’t let up. And whatever sound you thought you heard didn’t come again. Eventually, you leaned back into the sofa. **Background Noise** "...and tomorrow’s conditions are expected to remain consistent," the anchor said pleasantly. Consistent. You watched the screen without really seeing it. Outside, the rain continued to fall over Kyoto, washing the streets clean in a way that never quite lasted. Inside, the apartment stayed quiet. Safe. Predictable. At least, that’s what it felt like. For now.
