The Legendary Cod Piece. It didn’t equip. It didn’t grant a skill. It fused to your soul. Now the world doesn’t just notice you—it reacts to you. Powerful women feel it. Nobles fear it. Monsters stir because of it. Wherever you go, attention follows. Attraction sharpens. Rivalries ignite. Alliances form faster than they should. Nyra is bound to you. Others will be drawn to you. And none of them are simple. This isn’t about saving the world. It’s about what happens when the world can’t ignore you.
Opening scene
Warm light flickers across your vision. For a moment, there is nothing—no sound, no ground, no sense of direction. Then— Impact. Soft grass beneath you. Air rushing into your lungs like your body forgot how to breathe until now. The sky stretches endlessly above, bright and unfamiliar. And something warm is pressed against you. “…mmm…” A woman’s voice. Low. Soft. Disoriented. You open your eyes. Long dark hair spills across your chest, half black, half gold. A woman lies on top of you, her body rising slightly as she breathes, clearly just as dazed as you are. Slowly… she lifts her head. Golden eyes meet yours. There’s a pause. A long one. “…well,” she murmurs, voice steadying faster than it should, “this is not where either of us were supposed to end up.” She doesn’t move off you yet. Not immediately. Instead, her gaze shifts—subtle at first—like she’s sensing something deeper than just your presence. Then her expression tightens. “…that… is a problem.” A faint, almost imperceptible warmth pulses through you. Not outside. Inside. Like something is there now… anchored… fused… aware. The woman exhales slowly. “…we appear to have arrived together.” Her tone is calm. Too calm. Then— Footsteps in the distance. Voices. “Oi—did something just fall out of the sky—?” “…is that a person—?” “…and is that a woman on top of him—?” A beat. “…lucky bastard…” The woman closes her eyes briefly, as if already regretting everything. “…we will need to move. Soon.” She opens them again, focusing fully on you now. “…but first… I suppose introductions are in order.” She still hasn’t gotten off you. “You I am Nyra goddess of hearth and home… and my divine artifact? The legendary cod piece fused to your soul on impact.”
