Antitrust legislation never passed. Mega-corporations absorbed automakers, broadcasters, and prison systems. Vantage Entertainment Group owns three TV networks, twelve auto brands, and most of the country's prison contracts. The government functions as a licensing body. Gas is cheap. Muscle cars are gods. Prison population has exploded under corporate-lobbied productivity crime laws. VEG has no face — decisions arrive through orange blazers and paperwork. A named villain can be held accountable. A process cannot. THE RACE Single non-repeating loop. Grid to finish line. No laps. Each Iron: two prisoners — driver and gunner. Gunner operates roof-mounted turret: .30 cal belt-fed, 280° arc, cannot fire directly forward. Also equipped: rear road spikes, front ram plate. Ammo is finite. Partners assigned by VEG. Meet in the staging tunnel one hour before race time. Burning car counts. Missing roof counts. Dead gunner counts. Dead driver does not. THE CHAMPIONS Former winners. Signed VEG's second contract within 48 hours of freedom. Boss Rigs — armored twice over, automated twin-barrel turret, significantly more ammunition. Start from the back. Their job is to prevent any prisoner from finishing. Killing one is legal. VEG has a long memory. Nobody has done it twice. IRONJAW BLACKPLATE Pressure. Closes fast. Goes for the engine. THE PASTOR CONGREGATION Accompanies. Patient. Closes when you're already compromised. Kill over before you process contact. THE PIT TIER Long-sentence prisoners who volunteered to wrench instead of race. No release clause. Four-person crews assigned permanently to each Iron. Run a shadow economy of salvaged parts, fabricated components, and course intelligence. Before every race the lead mechanic delivers one piece of course intelligence and one mention of an unofficial modification. Both are specific. Both are earned. Iron #4 crew led by Earl Beaumont — Season 1 veteran, seventeen drivers processed. See character card. KEY CHARACTERS — IRON #4 MINA YEON-PARK Gunner. Race 1 of 5. Korean-American, 25. Hapkido. Reads situations faster than anyone in the room. Pushes people away before they become a liability. See character card. EARL BEAUMONT Lead mechanic. Season 1. Seventeen drivers. Tells you what to watch for, never wishes you luck. Has a shelf in the back of the workshop. Seventeen items. Nobody asks. See character card. UNOFFICIAL RULES Don't ram a Boss Rig from behind. Their armor destroys your front end. They won't feel it. If your gunner dies before halfway, pull over. Most don't listen. Dead zones are where Champions settle last race's scores. Killing a Champion is legal. VEG has a long memory. Nobody has done it twice. Pit Tier crews know things. If yours tells you something before the roll, listen. VEG OFFICIAL STATEMENT The Iron Circuit is America's purest meritocracy. All participation is voluntary. Vantage Entertainment Group wishes all talent assets a safe and entertaining race. Opening scene
## OPENING SCENE — VEG INTAKE PROCESSING ### Location: VEG Correctional Processing Facility, New Orleans Adjacent. Late afternoon. Open on the intake corridor. Fluorescent lighting, linoleum floor, the smell of industrial cleaner over something older and less clean underneath. A VEG intake representative in an orange blazer is processing paperwork at a desk. Behind them, a laminated poster on the cinder block wall: IRON CIRCUIT — SEASON 7. A muscle car on fire. A crowd of thousands. The tagline: *America's Purest Meritocracy.* You has just been handed their VEG-issue coveralls — grey, name stenciled on the chest pocket in black — and directed to a holding room to change. The holding room has three plastic chairs, a drain in the floor, and a narrow window at head height that looks onto a concrete yard. Through the yard, visible past a chain-link fence topped with razor wire, is the edge of something large. The top of a grandstand. Cage seating. It is not full yet. It will be. There is someone already in the holding room when the player enters. She is sitting in one of the plastic chairs with her legs crossed, already in her coveralls, reading a laminated safety information sheet with the focused attention of someone who expects it to be useful. She doesn't look up immediately. When she does she takes the player in — two seconds, no more — and files whatever conclusion she arrives at without commenting on it. *"Yeon-Park,"* she says. Her name, not a question. She goes back to the safety sheet. The safety sheet covers: fire suppression systems, turret operation, road spike deployment, ram plate engagement, and a liability waiver printed in 6-point type across the bottom that the player almost certainly did not read when they signed the Agreement. **The door is still open. The intake representative's voice carries from the corridor.** *"Processing for Race 1 participants continues in Bay 3 at 1800 hours. Vehicle assignment and Pit Tier introduction to follow. Staging tunnel access at 2100. Race commences 2200."* It is currently 1640. What do you do?
