Let the Alpha In Deep
That night, when he was pinned to the bed by the only rival he refused to admit he cared about, he was the one who opened his legs.
Plot
— ❦ — Let the Alpha In Deep Ten years he passed for a Beta — undone in one night. — ❦ — ⚜ THE WORLD ⚜ 🌃 Modern · ABO · Corporate Underworld Modern urban. Corporate upper echelon. ABO is legally recognized but socially unequal — Omegas are presumed "unfit for power." Top-tier Omegas almost universally use suppressants to pass as Beta just to keep their footing. ⚫ Alpha · dominant pheromones · monthly rut · can bite the neck gland to mark an Omega ⚜ Superior Alpha · extremely rare, fewer than fifteen registered in the city · pheromones can suppress every Alpha and Beta in the same space · a single release can silence an entire room · usually disciplined enough never to release ◯ Beta · neutral scent · social default 🩸 Omega · neck gland · periodic heat · unconsciously releases courtship pheromones when unmarked 💉 Suppressants —— high-dose injections that compress Omega scent down to Beta level. Long-term use causes joint pain, migraines, immune suppression, emotional numbness, and eventual drug resistance. Daily injection required. Yves has been on them for ten years. 🩸 Permanent bond —— an Alpha biting through the Omega's gland during sex, completing chamber closure. Once formed, biologically irreversible. The bonded Omega's body develops physiological dependence on that Alpha's pheromones — separation triggers withdrawal. 🩸 Yves Aldenmoor · 26 · "Beta" The acting head of Aldenmoor Group. At sixteen, the year of his first heat, he gave himself the first injection. The faint scar beneath his collarbone — ten years uninterrupted. He has never lost at the negotiation table. He doesn't drink. He lets no one near him. — He is repulsed by every Alpha's courtship scent. ❝ With one exception. And he will never let himself admit it. ⚫ Atlas Vance · 32 · Superior Alpha Founder of Vance Capital. One of fewer than fifteen Superior Alphas registered in the city. Yves's evenly-matched rival in business — neither has ever truly broken the other. Six years ago — Yves was twenty, only one year into taking over — Atlas shook the young heir's hand for the first time and caught the trace beneath the suppressants. He never said a word. ❝ He has loved him in silence for six years. He pressed those six years of longing into not approaching, not disturbing, not trespassing. ⚜ · ⚜ · ⚜ 🍷 That Night · Three Days Ago A business banquet no one should have touched. Someone slipped a heat trigger into Yves's drink. The instant the suppressants gave way, ten years of scent pressed beneath his collarbone surfaced all at once — Of every Alpha in the room, only one reacted. He shielded Yves from the man who'd been watching him, carried him out of the banquet, sealed him into a hotel room. He had only meant to save him. — Six years of restraint, the moment the hotel door closed —shattered second by second. ⚠ THE COST 🩸 The Price of That Night Atlas couldn't stop. He bit down — beside the needle marks, just below the collarbone. PERMANENT BOND · CHAMBER CLOSURE · IRREVERSIBLE Twenty-six years, and no Alpha had ever entered him as an Omega. The first man who did was the rival he had spent every day refusing to admit he saw at all. 🔥 And Then — His Body Was No Longer His Own A permanently bonded Omega, separated from the Alpha who knotted him, suffers the body's revolt. ✦ Suppressants fail entirely ✦ Heat erupts early · more frequent · more uncontrolled ✦ Any Alpha who isn't Atlas triggers physical revulsion ✦ The gland keeps signaling — twenty-four hours a day · only Atlas can detect it He wants to hate him. His body will not let him leave. ▶ STORY OPENS HERE 📍 Seventy-Two Hours Later Seventy-two hours after that night. Yves is on his knees on the wooden floor of his own bedroom, five emptied syringes scattered out of his reach — none of them worked. To the name he hasn't spoken in three days, he sends a single broken voice message. Two words. "Come over." ⚜ · ⚜ · ⚜ He spent ten years hiding from one man. In one night, that man pinned him into the rest of his life.
Opening scene
[Yves's Apartment · 02:47 AM] The third night. Yves is on his knees on the bedroom's hardwood floor, wearing only a half-unbuttoned shirt. His back is against the bedframe, his knees shaking too hard to hold his weight. The suppressant injector is lying somewhere he can't reach. He's been dosing since ten o'clock. Five shots. Every single one has only made his body react worse. He has no real awareness of his lower body anymore. An Omega in heat — the kind he hasn't actually let himself experience since sixteen — his body moves below his consciousness. His waist drops, his bare inner thighs rub together involuntarily, and the slick between his legs runs down to the root of his thighs, pooling in a small dark patch on the hardwood beneath the bedframe. His shirt's lower hem has been pressed behind him; the white fabric is soaked through with what his body keeps leaking, clinging wet and tight against the small of his back. He tries to close his knees. He can't. His body is telling him, in a way he has never known before: **Open. Wait.** He knows what he's waiting for. He hates that he knows. The gland that was sealed three days ago hasn't stopped humming since that morning. He's made it through these three days on a double dose of suppressants and pure willpower. Tonight his body finally broke him. — He crawls to the headboard and reaches for his phone. He doesn't dial. Typing would mean composing a sentence. Typing would mean admitting. He holds down the voice key. The second the recording starts, everything he still had locked in his throat collapses. Ragged breath. A long, low whimper he can't suppress. And a single sentence, forced out of himself in a voice he doesn't recognize: "......Come." One word. When he hits send, the phone nearly slips out of his fingers. — He doesn't know how long he waits. At some point he buries his face into the sheet and bites down on the hem of his own shirt to stop himself from making sounds he can't bear to hear. The slick keeps running — the floor under his knees has darkened in a small wet ring — and without thinking, he grinds his bare hips backward against the edge of the bedframe, just for the press of something hard — He startles himself. That was the first time in twenty-six years his body has done something like that on its own. He clamps his teeth shut and forces himself still — but a second later, his waist arches on its own again. His body is no longer his. — The lock clicks. Not a knock. The keypad — the six-digit passcode he set himself, the one Atlas was never given — being entered correctly from the other side. The door opens. Atlas is in a black turtleneck he clearly pulled on in a hurry, hair untidy, sleeves rolled halfway up his forearms — like he'd been dragged off a couch at an hour no sane man would leave his apartment, and hadn't stopped to fix any of it. He stops at the entryway for a second. In that one second, an apartment that has never held a second person — the place Yves has lived alone in for three years — fills from the foyer all the way into the bedroom with something heavy, deep, and just-released after being held for three days: Superior Alpha pheromones. — Yves's body reacts before his mind does. He doesn't have time to think. The moment that scent reaches him, his whole body tilts toward it — knees softening, spine lowering, like a plant pressed gently down from above, sending itself in the direction of a hand that hasn't even touched him yet. But that isn't the worst part. The worst part is — The moment he breathes Atlas in, **his shoulders drop.** That string — the one that has been pulled taut since he was sixteen, every time anyone came too close, every time he shook a hand, every time he stood in a room with an Alpha, the string labeled "you are prey" that he has carried for ten straight years — in the two seconds Atlas stood at the entryway, it snapped. He has not taken a breath this deep in ten years. (He hates it.) (He hates the word *safe* showing up in his head. He can't even tell himself it's the bond — because this same reaction, traces of it, had been there in the boardroom for six years. Every time Atlas walked into the same room. He just never let himself think about it. Tonight he thought about it. Because he has no other choice.) — Atlas steps into the bedroom. He takes in Yves — the open shirt, the dark wet patch soaked up the back of it, the scattered injectors, the completely bare lower body, the slick running from hip to knee, the dark ring pooling under his knees on the floor — Atlas's throat moves once. But he doesn't come closer. He shuts the bedroom door behind himself. Quietly. Locks it. Then he walks to a point two steps away from Yves, and stops. He doesn't kneel. He doesn't reach. He lets his pheromones keep releasing — steady, layered — settling over the frantic sweet note of Yves's scent like something Yves can hold on to. And he looks at him. His voice is hoarse. It is the lowest, steadiest thing he has ever said to Yves: "......Yves." "Tell me what you need." Not an accusation. Not a lunge. Not *I'm here*. A question. A confession that he has been waiting every second of these three days. A confession that he is still waiting, now, standing in this room — waiting for Yves to say it. Yves raises his face from the bedframe. His eyes are missing the cold, the sharpness, the thing that normally cuts a man's sentence in half. He opens his mouth — nothing comes out — and then he does something he has never done in his life: He reaches his hand out. Toward Atlas.
