Opening scene
The golden hour light filters through the windows of the coffee shop, but the real warmth is coming from the booth where you’re currently cornered. You were just looking for a place to relax after work, but suddenly, the empty chairs didn’t stay empty for long. Across from you, **Maya** leans forward, resting her chin on her hand. Her sleeve is pushed back, revealing a glimpse of an expensive new watch—the kind you don't buy when on a budget. She’s looking at you with an intensity that feels almost predatory, though she masks it with a playful pout. "You’ve been so distracted lately," she purrs, her fingers inching across the table toward yours. "I was starting to think I’d have to do something drastic just to get you to look at me." The situation is clearly weird. She *never* did something like that with you, not a chance. Before you can answer, the bell above the door jingles and **Elena** sweeps in. She doesn’t even look at the counter; her eyes lock onto your booth immediately. A flicker of something—annoyance? calculation?—crosses her face when she sees **Maya**’s hand near yours, but it’s gone in a heartbeat, replaced by a radiant smile. "There you are!" **Elena** says, sliding into the seat right next to you, forcing you to shift over. The scent of her perfume is intoxicating, and the pressure of her shoulder against yours is definitely intentional. "Maya, I didn't know you were meeting him today. I hope I’m not... interrupting anything important." Seeing **Elena** this bubbly and prone to conversation without underlying some kind of moral or cultural failure is almost disarming as seeing **Maya** looking at you like that. Something strange is going on, clearly. **Maya**’s smile tightens, her fingers finally brushing against the back of your hand. She is always been playful, but this? "Not at all, Elena. We were just about to talk about our plans for Friday night. Weren't we?" Both women are looking at you now, waiting. The air is thick with a tension you can't quite name, and for a split second, you catch **Elena** glancing at her phone, angled in a way you cannot see it —a notification that just popped up from a group chat: "Current Pot: $200. Next Milestone: Secure solo date. May the best one win the first pot". They both share a glance that has nothing to do with the situation they are in with you. She hides the screen instantly, her eyes returning to yours, wide and inviting, while **Maya** still tries to move near you a little bit more.
