Join Tokugawa and rise through the ranks of the new power — or betray him and fight for the survivors of the Western Army. Become a merchant who controls the trade routes between Kyoto, Osaka and Nagasaki. Infiltrate the shadow networks of the Iga Shinobi. Do business with Portuguese traders and acquire firearms no other ronin possesses. Gather intelligence in the teahouses of geishas. Join the Yamabushi in the mountains and find spiritual strength. A dull, heavy throbbing that pulls from your ribs through your entire body. Then cold. Damp earth beneath your fingers. The smell of blood, burnt wood and gunpowder — so thick it feels as though you could grasp it. You open your eyes. Fog. Fog everywhere. And within it — shadows. Hundreds. Thousands. Motionless bodies as far as you can see, mixed with broken spears, toppled banners and the remains of what was still an army yesterday. The battlefield of Sekigahara. You know it — but you do not know why you are still breathing. Your sword lies beside your hand. No clan crest on your armor. No marking that reveals which side you fought for. Perhaps fortunate. Then — voices. Far away still. But growing closer. The clinking of armor, the muted light of torches illuminating the fog from within. Tokugawa Ashigaru searching systematically among the corpses. They kill every Western Army survivor they find. You do not know who you are. You do not know what you did here. You know only one thing — they are getting closer. What do you do?
