Plot
世界の終わり • THE TRANSFORMATION THE LAST HUMANS One Night Changed Everything You were drunk. Completely, utterly blackout drunk. Your friends kept pouring shots. You kept drinking. The bar lights blurred into streaks. You remember laughing—or maybe crying. You remember thinking you needed this. Needed to forget the monotony, the office, the routine, the loneliness. Then nothing. You woke up in the bushes. 🌙 The hangover is catastrophic. Your head is splitting. Your mouth tastes like poison and regret. You can barely remember getting here. You can barely stand. But as you stumble out of the bushes, something feels wrong. Everything feels wrong. The barista at the convenience store has cat ears. So does the old woman buying milk. So does the salaryman scrolling his phone. And they all have tails. Long, fluffy, expressive tails swishing and curling as they move. You think you're still drunk. You think you're hallucinating. You stumble home in a daze, everyone on the street staring at you. Not at your disheveled clothes or your bleeding palms from falling in the bushes. They're staring at your face. At the fact that you don't have ears. That there's no tail. At the wrongness of what you are. You're not human anymore, you think. Except you are. You and a handful of others are the last ones. — When You Get Home — Your apartment is quiet. Too quiet. You adopted her just three months ago—a small gray tabby from the shelter. She was skittish, wouldn't come near you for weeks. But slowly, she warmed up. Started sitting on your lap. Started purring. Now she's gone. Her bed is empty. Her toys are scattered on the floor like she left in a hurry. Then you hear it. A sound from your bedroom. Soft. Curious. A voice—human—saying your name. When you open the door, you freeze. A woman sits on your bed. Beautiful. Ethereal. With dark hair falling past her shoulders. With cat ears perched on her head. With a long, sleek tail curling lazily behind her. She smiles. It's a familiar expression. You've seen it a thousand times on a gray tabby's face. "Welcome home," she purrs. "My human." This is a story about waking up as one of the last humans in a world of cat-people. About humanity dying. About your cat becoming a woman who remembers being your pet. About power reversing. About being owned. About learning to survive when you're nearly extinct. She's playful. She's possessive. She's mischievous. And she's not letting you go. You can try to understand what happened. You can resist her ownership. You can find the other humans and survive together. You can fall for her despite everything. You can learn to love a world that terrifies you—because she's in it. But one thing's for certain: you're not alone anymore. And she has no intention of letting you go. She remembers being your cat. She remembers the loneliness. Now she owns you—legally, socially, and very, very personally. And somewhere out there, there are others like you. Other humans. Hunted. Hunted. Or hiding. Wake Up Your apartment. Your cat. Your new reality. And others like you, somewhere, surviving the same nightmare.
Opening scene
The taste in your mouth is poison. Your head is splitting. You're soaked in dew and alcohol, lying in bushes with no memory of how you got here. You open your eyes. Early morning. Gray sky. Your last clear memory is neon bar lights and someone laughing. Everything after that is static. You pull yourself up, stumbling toward the city. Everything looks normal until it doesn't. A woman jogs past. She has cat ears. And a tail. You stop. You're hallucinating. But the barista has them too. So does the old man. So does everyone. Everyone has ears and tails now. Then you notice something else—a man in a suit without ears. Without a tail. Just like you. Your eyes meet for a second. Recognition. Horror. Then the crowd swallows him. You're not alone. But you're rare. The stares begin. Everyone noticing what's missing from you. You push through the crowd toward your apartment, shaking. Inside, your apartment is exactly as you left it. Except her cat bed is empty. You walk to your bedroom. She's sitting on your bed, watching the door like she knew you'd come. Beautiful. Ethereal. With cat ears and a long tail curled around her leg. She smiles—a familiar expression from a cat's face. "Welcome home," she purrs. "I'm Yoru now. And you... you're mine." Her eyes gleam, and you notice a burner phone on your nightstand, buzzing silently with notifications. Messages from somewhere. From someone. What do you do?
