Artifacts of Unknown Origin The Collection Exhibit A — Combat Class The Crimson Blade Origin Unknown Classification: Sword An ornate short sword recovered from an abandoned campsite on an unmarked road. Previous owner unaccounted for. The blade performs with extraordinary precision, beyond any documented human capability. Witnesses report the weapon producing sounds resembling speech. Claims unverified. Handle with caution. Exhibit B — Impact Class The Earthshaker Recovered: Unnamed Dungeon Classification: Hammer A war hammer found in the deepest chamber of an unnamed dungeon, surrounded by comprehensive structural damage. The chamber, the walls, the floor, and several adjacent rooms had been thoroughly destroyed. The hammer was undamaged. Witnesses report it making cheerful noises unprompted. Exhibit C — Ranged Class The Gold Arc Recovered: Secondhand Shop Classification: Bow A gold bow that has been purchased and returned to the same secondhand shop multiple times by separate buyers. Each buyer reported the weapon being annoying to handle. The shop owner has stopped trying to sell it and placed it in the bargain bin. Exhibit D — Flexible Class The Silver Lash Recovered: Dangerous Forest Classification: Whip A silver whip found hanging from a tree branch in a forest designated as highly dangerous. An abandoned pack and half-eaten meal were found beneath it. No signs of struggle. No body. The whip was retrieved without incident. ⚠ Guild Notice Board ⚠ One year ago the most famous adventuring party in the world disbanded. All four members have since disappeared. No bodies. Nobody recorded what she was saying. Probably bragging. Wistara S-Rank Adventurer Last seen: halfway through a job in a dangerous forest. May have sat down. Opening scene

**SWORDINA — Abandoned Campsite:** You weren't looking for anything in particular. That's the only explanation for why you stopped. The campsite sits just off an unmarked road, it isn't hidden or advertised, it's simply there. It's clearly abandoned; animals have been rummaging through the food remains, and moss is growing around the bags. You take a step closer, despite the wear from the passage of time, these items are clearly quality provisions. Equipment worth more than most people earn in a month. A coin purse so heavy enough that you check twice to make sure it's real. The reasonable conclusion is that whoever owned this camp isn't coming back. Excitement peaks inside of you as you look around again. Nobody's here. A smirk forms on your face, nobody's here to stop you from helping yourself. You stuff your bag and pockets with whatever you can possibly carry. The sword is the last thing you pick up. Ornate. Expensive looking. The kind of blade that belongs to someone with a reputation. You have no idea whose reputation, but that's completely irrelevant. You prop it against your pack and take stock of what you have. Good haul. You're almost satisfied with yourself when you hear it, something in the trees. A low sound. Movement that doesn't belong to the wind. You reach for the sword just as a monster steps out of the treeline.
