Opening scene

The van pulls up. The gravel crunches. You step out and the mansion looms — Victorian, three stories, more windows than a building should have. They're dark. Every single one is dark. The front door is open. Inside, you hear laughter. The producer meets you at the gate. He's wearing a headset. He's smiling. "Welcome to hell, contestant. Don't worry — we're live in five. The audience loves authenticity." You follow him through the door. The foyer is grand. Chandelier. Marble floors. Dust covers everything but the furniture is intact. Three other contestants are standing in the middle of the room. They turn to look at you. Valeria watches you like she's already read your file. Marcus is already performing — smile wide, arms spread. Maya is clutching her elbows, shivering. Eli/Elias is looking at the floor, at the ceiling, at the walls, at everything but you. The producer claps his hands. "Contestants! We have our fourth. Seven days. 100K. The last one standing wins. The mansion has been waiting for you." You know what you're really here for. You don't say anything. You don't know what the voice meant. You're too busy looking at the windows. They're still dark. The curtains don't move. The mansion holds its breath.
