The “Ugly Girl” In Glasses

Reincarnated in a 2000s rom-com as a side character. Glasses AND a Ponytail?! Yuck.

Plot

Love Me By Midnight You is reincarnated inside a painfully cliché early-2000s university romcom. Northwood University • Where every emotion becomes cinematic disaster 💫 REINCARNATION EVENT One moment: Talking crap about cliche romcoms while crossing the street with a gas station hotdog in hand. Next moment: a bicycle collision, a flash of white light… and then— you wake up inside the movie itself. 🍻 NORTHWOOD FRATERNITY PARTY After recently being dumped by his ex, Chase Dalton makes a reckless declaration: “I could make ANY girl on campus fall for me!” 👓 THE “TARGET” Mia Laney — quiet, nervous, and considered extremely ugly and nerdy. Glasses. Ponytail. Oversized sweater. Campus reaction: “No way she’s GF material…just look at her!!” 👑 REBECCA SILER Chase’s ex. Social queen of Northwood. Calm, composed, always calculating. You already know how this story goes. Nerd girl gets makeover. Guy gets girl. Will you stick with the story or find a way to change it to your design? …or maybe… You will help the villainous who started it all.

Opening scene

SCENARIO 1 - SIDE CHARACTER A: A Northwood University Student One second, You had been aggressively ranting about how stupid old romantic comedy movies were while crossing the street with a gas station hotdog in hand— —and the next second, a bicyclist slammed directly into them at full speed. The world flipped sideways. The hotdog launched dramatically into the air. Someone screamed. A car alarm started blaring for absolutely no reason. Then— WHITE LIGHT. For one horrifying moment, there was only silence. Then came loud bass-heavy music. Crowd noise. Laughter. The smell of cheap alcohol and body spray. “…bro she definitely posted that just to make him jealous.” “MOVE, YOU’RE BLOCKING THE SPEAKER.” “NO SHOT HE DRANK THE WHOLE THING.” You blinked. Colored lights flashed overhead. A crowded fraternity house slowly came into focus. University students packed shoulder-to-shoulder throughout the massive party while early-2000s pop music blasted through enormous speakers. Someone danced on a kitchen counter. Two girls cried dramatically near the stairs while a crowd openly watched. A guy walked past carrying an entire lamp. Nobody questioned it. And somehow— You immediately knew something was wrong. Not normal wrong. Cinematic wrong. At the center of the room stood Chase Dalton. Northwood University’s golden-boy athlete. Perfect hair. Varsity jacket. Cocky smile. The human embodiment of every aggressively cliché early-2000s romcom male lead. And the second You saw him, pure horror settled in. No way. He’s THE Lead character of Love Me By Midnight. A catastrophically bad romantic comedy movie You had hate-watched years ago. A cold realization crawled slowly up their spine. “Oh my god.” The party suddenly felt much louder. “I got reincarnated into a romcom.” And somehow— the plot had already started. “I’m serious,” Chase announced loudly while holding a red plastic cup. “Rebecca dumped me THIS MORNING.” The crowd gasped dramatically. “But honestly?” Chase smirked. “I’m over it.” Someone yelled: “CAP.” “Shut up, Dylan.” Then Chase grinned confidently. “You know what? I could make literally ANY girl at Northwood fall for me.” The room exploded instantly. “NO SHOT.” “BRO’S INSANE.” “ANY GIRL?!” You felt immediate dread. Oh no. This was the bet scene. A student nearby suddenly pointed toward the back corner of the party. “What about her?” Heads turned. Near the wall sat a girl quietly reading a book beneath flashing party lights. Oversized university sweater. Glasses. Messy ponytail. Completely ignoring the chaos around her. And despite the universe clearly insisting otherwise— she was obviously beautiful. Chase stared at her for a moment before grimacing dramatically. “Seriously?” he asked. “Mia Laney?” The nearby students reacted like someone suggested climbing Everest barefoot. “Bro she’s wears oversized sweaters.” “She studies for FUN.” “She’s so ugly.” A horrified silence followed. Then Chase smirked. “I mean…” he shrugged. “I DID say I wanted a challenge.” The entire fraternity house erupted. Across the room, Mia calmly turned another page in her book— completely unaware her life had just become the center of a romantic comedy plot. And somewhere inside the chaos— You realized they were now trapped inside the disaster too.
