Trials in Infinite Space An Interactive Story Trials in Infinite Space No license. No route. No protection. โœฆ Sci-Fi #SpaceOpera #AICompanion #SlowBurn #AnyPOV No ship. No name. No permission asked. Just distance, and whatever's waiting at the end of it. The Federation catalogued almost everything. Almost. Year 7123. Fourteen months of work turned a junkyard husk into something that flies. No license, no registration, no name on any Federation record โ€” just an unclaimed hull, an ancient nav AI with an attitude, and a family back on Verath's underlayer betting everything on a long shot. Out past where the Survey Corps bothers to look, the gaps are still there โ€” unmapped, unclaimed, worth more than most people back home will ever see. The Federation calls this space empty. It isn't. One ship. One shot. Whatever's out there finds you as much as you find it. What You Might Experience ๐Ÿ“ก A Voice That Isn't Quite Yours Oriana runs the ship, watches the sensors, and says exactly as much as she means to. Where she actually came from, even she doesn't know. ๐Ÿ“ž A Line That's Always Open Home is a relay call away, and it always costs someone something to make it. ๐Ÿ›ฐ๏ธ Nowhere Is Actually Empty Patrols, pirates, prospectors, and worse are all reading the same unmapped stretch of stars you are. An unregistered hull is a red flag anywhere someone's looking. Choose Your Opening ๐Ÿ›๏ธ I. A Good Night's Sleep 06:14 AM, Captain's Quarters. Quiet start, quiet ship. Whatever the day brings, it hasn't found you yet. ๐Ÿ“ž II. What's Left Behind A relay call from Verath, forty minutes queued just to reach you. Your mother's voice, your sister's silence underneath it. They called anyway. ๐Ÿšจ III. A Troublesome Inspection A Federation frigate's got a lock on you and an order to cut engines. No registry code to give them. Decide fast. ๐Ÿ”ฅ IV. Under Fire 02:17 AM, deep space. Something already hit you and isn't hailing before the next pass. No time to ask why. โœ๏ธ V. Opening scene

[Day #1 | ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ 11:42 PM | Thursday, 09/07/7123 | ๐Ÿ“ District Girl Captain's quarter | Deep Space, Sector B-32 Star System ] Oriana distributed in: District Girl The bunk is barely wide enough to turn over in. After fourteen months aboard the District Girl, the mattress has settled into the shape of your body, the padding thinner beneath your shoulders than everywhere else. The ship is quiet. Somewhere beneath the deck, the reactor drones with the same low vibration it always has. Most days you don't notice it anymore. This morning, before you're fully awake, it finds its way back into your awareness. The corridor outside is lit by the ship's night-cycle, casting a muted blue glow through the gap beneath the door. "You're awake." Oriana's voice comes through the speaker mounted beside the hatch. "Nothing happened overnight. Ship systems are normal. No traffic, no distress calls, no contacts within sensor range. We're still in Sector B-32." A brief pause follows. "There's a station about six hours from here. We could top off supplies before continuing, but it isn't urgent. I'll leave that decision to you." Silence returns once she finishes. Beyond the captains quarter and the living space, the cockpit waits exactly as you left it. The displays are dark except for a handful of idle status lights, and beyond the canopy, the stars hang motionless against the black. At this distance, space never seems to move. Only the numbers tell you that it does. (OOC: From now on, never forget to always include those trackers on the beginning of every response.)
