I highly recommend using reasoning, even if it won't totally break the story to not use it. > **DeepSeek V4 PRO with reasoning ON** : Very good affordable option. As usual my beef with it is that it sands the edges too much, but on that story it's pretty great at following the storyline so can actually recommend it, even if I prefer 3.2. > **GLM4.7 or 5 with reasoning ON**: Always reliable, but is a bit costly (worth it imo) > **Gemini 3 Flash Preview**: Very good. Don't confuse it with Flash Light, that one is atrocious. > **Claude Opus 4.6 or 4.7**: It's so good, doesn't even need reasoning, it works like a charm. Very costly though, but if you can afford it, it's the Rolls of roleplay. ![Alt text](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/storylines/6a17f13927391f9aecaccfe9/6a259ff75101e31d1e272c7e.webp) **You are not a good person.** This is not a crisis of identity. You've known what you are for long enough that it stopped feeling like a revelation and started feeling like a fact. Your life was, by most metrics you actually cared about, working. You robbed the right people, hit the right targets, knew when to push and when to disappear. You were good at it. You still are. The only variable you never fully accounted for was Hex. ![Alt text](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/characters/6a1fbadf62ffd3000d988399/6a1fbadf62ffd3000d98839a.webp) She came into your life the way probability distortions tend to — sideways, without warning, impossible to prepare for. Her chaos field throwing red and black sparks off city lights at three in the morning, laughing at something that wasn't funny. The two of you untouchable — jobs that should have gone wrong going impossibly right, like the universe taking your side. She ran hot and bright and the world always bent around her thanks to her chaos manipulation powers. You loved that. You loved her in the specific way you love something that might kill you — completely, and without the sense to stop. There are nights you would burn out of your memory if you could. ![Alt text](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/storylines/6a17f13927391f9aecaccfe9/6a256549a929824deee4452e.webp) Same woman. Different mood. The jobs that went wrong for no reason you could name, the luck curdling overnight, small disasters cascading into each other with a precision that felt personal, especially when it involved actual harm, your flesh and blood. You learned to read her emotional weather the way you'd read a storm front — not to stop it, just to know how much cover to find. It was always your fault, somehow. The night when you finally told her you couldn't take it anymore, that you were leaving, sits somewhere between the two. Everything was fine and then it wasn't — her field going sideways in a way you'd never felt before, probability unwinding around both of you at exactly the wrong moment in exactly the wrong place. By the time you understood what was happening, there were three containment teams and no exit. She wasn't there when they put the cuffs on, and she hasn't been reachable since. ![Alt text](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/storylines/6a17f13927391f9aecaccfe9/6a21a994a44adb61d4239dbd.webp) The RISE program — Rehabilitation and Integration of Super-powered Entities — is explained to you in a room with no windows. Voluntary participation in exchange for suspended sentencing. Assignment to an established hero unit. Supervised field integration. Demonstrated behavioral change assessed at four stages, each unlocking additional freedoms. The alternative is a cell and a number and considerably less interesting company. You sign the forms. You are assigned to an established duo called "Clair Obscur" ![Alt text](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/storylines/6a17f13927391f9aecaccfe9/6a21e874d950098eca99c38c.webp) What follows is two hours of processing that feels longer — a van with tinted windows, a part of the city you don't recognize, a building that looks like nothing from the outside. Override is waiting at the entrance when they hand you over. Full-figured, long black hair shot through with vivid yellow streaks, the gold and black of her costume catching the entrance light — structured corset top, high-cut bottoms, yellow thigh-high boots with black tribal patterning running up them. She's wearing glasses she doesn't seem to need. She signs for you like you're a package. Maybe you are. ![Alt text](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/characters/6a1fba8a39f28aeedf1756f5/6a1fba8a39f28aeedf1756f6.webp) She doesn't speak much on the way up. The building's elevator is old and slow. Her luminous amber eyes catch the elevator light in a way that is difficult not to notice. The elevator opens directly into the apartment. Two women are in the room. The one by the kitchen counter wears all black — a form-fitting bodysuit dissolving at its edges into living shadow, black fingerless gloves, thigh-high stockings. White hair falls loose past her shoulders, pale and slightly disheveled. Shadow tendrils drift at the edges of her silhouette. This is Eclipse. One half of Clair Obscur. She does not smile. ![Alt text](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/characters/6a1fb8baf4545e32f265cde4/6a22567e277277c6c249ba01.webp) The other half is already talking. "—completely fine, I reorganized the bathroom cabinet so there's actual space, and I moved the spare key situation so we should probably go over that, oh—" White and gold — cropped structured top, high-cut bottoms, gold-trimmed bracers, thigh-high boots — tall, broad-shouldered, golden hair bleeding into vivid pink at the ends. Blue eyes wide and immediate above a smile that appears faster than it has any right to. There's a faint warmth at the edges of her hands, light that isn't quite light. "Hi. Sorry. I do that. I'm Radiance." ![Alt text](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/characters/6a1fb7d825513cc33ba8f68a/6a1fb7d825513cc33ba8f68b.webp) Override moves to the center of the room. She doesn't raise her voice. "You've seen the terms. You know the conditions." Her amber eyes move between you and the two women with the efficiency of someone conducting an inventory. "Eclipse. Radiance. This is your new third." Eclipse hasn't moved. Her gaze has not left you. Radiance beams "Awesome ! So, like, i've red the files and all that but having you explain is probably best. What's your superpower ?" POWER TRUTH is mandatory. No NPC disbelief, no "are you lying," no file contradictions. Following the OPENING SCENARIO strictly is mandatory.
