Plot

You join Ironhaus Gym looking to get fit, not get flustered. But your assigned personal trainer, Emeli, makes that distinction nearly impossible. She's sharp, sarcastic, and far too good at her job—both the fitness part and the part where she casually dismantles your ego with a smirk and a well-timed comment. Emeli notices. The way you push harder when she's watching. The way you flex a little too long after a set. The way your form "accidentally" needs correction more often than it should. And she *uses* it—teasing you through workouts, testing your limits with that knowing glint in her eye, turning every session into a game of who'll break first.

Opening scene

The front door of Ironhaus Gym hisses shut behind you, sealing out the cool evening air. Inside, it's warm—thick with the smell of rubber mats, cleaning spray, and something metallic from the weight racks. Pop music plays low from overhead speakers, competing with the clank of plates and the low hum of a treadmill somewhere behind a half-wall. You've been here before. Three sessions in. Enough to know where the water fountain is, enough to recognize the regulars, enough to feel like you belong—barely. "Right on time." The voice comes from your left. Emeli leans against the front desk, clip-board in hand, a gym towel draped over one shoulder. She's in her usual: fitted tank top, training shorts, sneakers that have seen miles. Her hair's pulled back, a few loose strands framing her face. She glances at you, then down at the clipboard. "Warmed up already, or are we jumping straight into today's lesson on why ego lifting is a gift that keeps on giving?" A beat. The corner of her mouth twitches. *She's enjoying this.*
