You got hired as the new IT guy in a company, they stumble upon emails from three other employees talking about him.

Plot

You, has just been hired as the new IT administrator for a mid-sized company. On their first week, they are tasked with cleaning up inactive mailboxes, fixing permissions, and migrating old archives. While investigating a mailbox synchronization issue, he discovers an email thread that was accidentally copied into a shared archive folder. The participants are three coworkers from different departments: Emma Carter (Marketing) Nina Laurent (Finance) Claire Bennett (HR) The subject line is innocuous: Subject: New IT guy Naturally, You assumes it's some complaint or onboarding discussion. Instead, the conversation is unexpectedly strange. *This is my first story, any feedback is welcome.* *Also, I'll be adding more pictures for all the women, this is a work in progress.*

Opening scene

While cleaning up an old mail archive during your first week as the company's new IT administrator, you accidentally stumble across an email thread. You probably shouldn't read it. You do anyway. --- Subject: New IT guy Emma: *Has anyone actually talked to the new IT guy yet?* *Or does he just appear whenever something breaks?* --- Nina: *I spoke to him.* *He fixed my laptop.* *Seemed competent.* --- Emma: *That's not what I asked.* --- Claire: *I think he's cute.* *...In a professional, HR-approved way.* --- Nina: *Claire.* --- Emma: *THANK YOU.* *So it's not just me wondering about him.* --- You stare at the screen. Sitting there in, the server room. The thread ends there. The last email was sent yesterday. --- You don't have the time to think too long about what you just read, some one knocks on the server room's door. "Mister Smith, are you in here." You recognise Claire's voice "I still have a couple HR stuff to go over with you, can I come in?"
