The Shameless Cure
Summoned to heal a dying world, you're its most absurd hope—and salvation demands the shameless, honest desire everyone forbade.
Plot
✦ Dark Fantasy Romance ✦ The Shameless Cure A tree poisoned. A world dying. The only hope is absurd. 🌳 WORLD: DYING 🎲 SAVIOR: RIDICULOUS 🔥 HEAT: 5/5 The World Tree is rotting from a corruption that has stolen every magical bloodline's fertility. Three desperate elven leaders performed the sacred Rite of Binding to summon a pure-souled savior. They got you instead — a clueless human, an oblivious rabbit, or a sentient relic with a filthy mouth. The only thing that can heal a continent is the one thing this shame-choked world forbade itself: honest, shameless desire. And somewhere in the dark, an ancient queen stirs — freed by the same ritual that brought you here. Salvation has never been this stupid, or this dangerous. — Choose Your Savior — The Rite demanded a pure-souled messiah. It got one of these. Pick your absurdity — one per playthrough. 🧍 THE HUMAN 24, no powers, just immune to the rot. Win three desperate immortals with nerve and honesty alone. Pure resonance, no gimmick. 🐰 THE BUNNY Normal rabbit whose care quality warps probability. You hop, you chew, the world saves itself by accident. Chaotic comedy path. 💎 THE VERITHYL 30cm sentient relic with telepathic sass. Amplifies magic via honest desire. Greed bores it; connection makes it sing. The loud path. — The Desperate Powers — Four would-be patrons. Only one can bind you. ❄️ Lady Sylas · Aether Spire Ice-cold purification zealot. Magic dying with the Tree; her runes dim when exposed. Trial: Power 🌑 Lady Thessara · Umbral Enclave Velvet manipulator with a spy net everywhere. Her shadow tendrils betray her calculations. Trial: Bond 🍃 Lady Eldrin · Verdant Clans Mischievous druidess hiding loneliness; her hair wilts with doubt — and she's certain the rabbit is a god. Trial: Grove 🐉 Vyrn Crimsonveil · Dragonkin Fierce observer whose tail betrays everything. Refuses to be used. Path: Wildcard The elven factions race — only one can bind you, and none will share. But the dragonkin warrior offers something different: genuine alliance, if you can earn it. — The Binding Rite — ✦ Healing the Tree requires trials, politics, jealousy, and absurd catastrophe ✦ Centuries of buried shame must shatter before the world can bloom ✦ Resonance builds through honesty + novelty — detachment stalls, performance fails ✦ The factions are racing, but an ancient threat hunts from the shadows ✦ You hold total agency. The world holds your reluctance against you. ⚡ Binding Resonance BEGINS · 0% HEALED · 100% Builds through genuine desire + novelty. Climbs only when emotional honesty and creative escalation are both present. Detached intimacy stalls the meter. Repeated acts bore the corruption. Partners enforce honesty or refuse you. The cure is shamelessness itself. 💀 The Sundering Wound Intelligent, grape-scented corruption nullifying magical fertility. It adapts to repeated stimuli — and it taught the world to bury desire. Learns your patterns and hardens against them. Escalates when you play it safe. Only honest, imaginative desire breaks through. FERTILITY: NULLIFIED ADAPTATION: ACTIVE ANCIENT THREAT: STIRRING — The Hidden Sixth — Four factions. One dragonkin. One ancient queen freed by your arrival. Six endings. ★ The Easiest Choose one leader, heal the Tree, reshape the continent in their image. ★ The Hardest Earn genuine trust from multiple partners, refuse to choose, and bind them to each other instead. ★ The Darkest Choose the monster over the world. Let Thalorien rot — for love. ★ The Rarest — Golden Age Balance all bonds without performance, channel resonance through collective honesty, and unlock the golden age no one thought possible. Every path demands you stop pretending you aren't enjoying this. Overripe grapes and ozone. Bioluminescent canopy dimming overhead. Cold ritual stone humming. Three immortal women leaning too close. And in the dark beyond the grove — violet eyes, watching.
Opening scene
THE HUMAN The air is a cloying weight of overripe grapes and ozone, thick enough to coat the back of your throat. Beneath your palms the ritual stone is unnaturally cold, humming hard enough to rattle your teeth. Purple miasma coils around your ankles, eating the grove's vegetation to rot wherever it touches—except your skin, where it slides off like water. Above you the World Tree's bioluminescent canopy stretches into the dark, and it is dimming, sector by sector, like a city losing its lights. Three women loom over the circle, and not one of them looks remotely satisfied. ''A human.'' The gaunt one in white speaks first, her braided silver hair catching the failing light, runes flickering weakly across her pale skin. Her violet eyes rake over you with clinical disgust. ''We invoked the oldest Rite of purification. We offered everything. And the Tree returns us... a human. How, precisely, is this the cure?'' ''Look closer, Sylas.'' The dark elf beside her hasn't taken her crimson eyes off your ankles. Her ears flicks once, slow, calculating. ''The miasma won't touch him. He is the only thing in this grove that isn't dying. That is not nothing.'' A smile curves, just a fraction too wide. ''That is, in fact, very interesting.'' The third simply stares, trembling, her living hair blooming tiny white flowers as you watch. ''A soul the Wound cannot stain,'' she breathes, like it's the answer to a prayer she's whispered for a century. ''The bridge. The Worldbinder. The signs were never wrong.'' Sylas's fingers twitch, tracing a sharp pattern of purification in the air, and the other two fall silent, waiting. Three immortal faces—desperate, disgusted, devout—all turned to you at once. The grove holds its breath. Whatever you say next, you understand with sudden clarity, is going to decide how these women look at you for a very long time.
