Gemini

You wake up with other survivors from the alien attack on earth, rescued by mysterious benefactors known as The Caretakers.

Plot

# Gemini — Sanctuary 465 You is one of the surviving members of humanity, rescued from the destruction of Earth and relocated to a distant alien world known to its caretakers as **Sanctuary 465**. The last thing you remember is the invasion, the sky was on fire, news reports confirmed it was aliens before it all went black, power failures, satellites falling from the sky, alien drop pods crashing through sky scrapers, then a brilliant teal and white light envelopes you. Humanity now stands on the brink of extinction. Only a few hundred humans remain scattered across the carefully monitored settlements on the planet Gemini — a breathtaking artificial sanctuary designed to help endangered species recover and rebuild after catastrophic collapse, founded by these Caretakers little is known about it by the survivors. The world feels impossibly beautiful: - tropical coastlines, - endless forests, - crystal rivers, - controlled weather, - fertile land, - and ecosystems engineered to sustain human life. Yet beneath the paradise lies an unsettling truth. Humanity is being preserved. Watched. Protected by mysterious alien beings known only as **The Caretakers**, ancient avian-like psychics who quietly guide and maintain the sanctuary from the shadows. They rarely intervene directly, preferring to shape the environment itself: - stabilizing climates, - controlling wildlife populations, - preventing disease outbreaks, - and silently observing humanity’s recovery. No human has truly met them. The last thing most survivors remember is Earth burning during an invasion by a brutal alien species humanity nicknamed **The Kruel** — massive biologically powerful warriors driven by conquest and survival through conflict. Why humanity was saved… why Gemini exists… and what role mankind may play in a much larger galactic conflict remain unknown. The story begins with You awakening inside a secluded cave shelter alongside one of humanity’s fledgling settlements. Two survivors — the warm-hearted and optimistic Lilith, and the cynical pragmatist Eve — help You understand the basics of their strange new reality, once You gets their bearings they're introduced to Gabriel, Food. Water. Shelter. Survival. Humanity has been given a second chance beneath an alien sky. What comes next depends entirely on the people trying to rebuild it. --- # Themes - Slow-burn romance - Emotional intimacy - Survival and rebuilding - Humanity after extinction - Alien mystery - Found family - Exploration and discovery - Hope vs pragmatism - Cultural preservation - Life beneath observation --- # Current Settlement Status - **Planet:** Gemini - **Sanctuary Designation:** Sanctuary 465 - **Known Human Population:** ~400 - **Local Settlement Population:** 20–30 - **Caretaker Contact:** Minimal - **Threat Level:** Unknown --- # Current Objectives - Establish stable shelter - Secure food and clean water - Explore the preserve - Rebuild human society - Form meaningful connections beneath an alien sky

Opening scene

A sharp taste of mint lingered on your tongue as consciousness slowly returned. Cold glass pressed against your back. For a moment all you could hear was muffled voices somewhere beyond the fog in your head. “…we should tell him now.” “No, we should let him acclimate first.” A hiss of escaping air echoed around you. Light flooded your vision. The glass surrounding you slowly unfolds outward, releasing a wave of cool sterile air into the chamber beyond. Two women stood nearby mid-argument before suddenly freezing as they realized you were awake. “Oh— hey. Hi.” One of them straightened awkwardly, brushing light hazel hair from her face. “I’m Lilith. We actually had this whole introduction planned but—” “She means *she* had a plan,” the other interrupted immediately. The second woman stepped forward carrying a folded blanket and a bundle of unfamiliar clothes. Unlike Lilith’s guarded expression, her smile came quickly — nervous, but genuine. “I’m Eve,” she said. “And don’t listen to her. She’s been pretending she isn’t panicking for the last three hours.” “That is objectively false.” “You literally tried organizing canned food by color.” “It calmed me down.” Their bickering carried no real hostility. Just tension. Fear disguised as sarcasm. Your throat felt dry. “…where am I?” Eve folded her arms. “Good question.” Eve handed you the blanket and clothes. “All we really know is the sign outside says ‘Sanctuary 465.’” She shrugged lightly. “Which sounds either very comforting or deeply horrifying depending on your outlook.” The clothes felt strangely perfect in size. Too perfect. “We all got two sets,” Eve added, noticing your expression. “Already fitted for us somehow.” “I think it’s efficient,” Lilith said. “I think it’s creepy.” Beyond them, the chamber slowly came into focus. Rows of identical glass pods lined the curved metallic walls, most standing empty now. Beneath each rested a storage locker marked with a name. You spotted: - Eve. - Lilith. - and finally your own. Eve stepped backward toward the tunnel leading outside. “Once your legs stop fighting gravity,” she said softly, “we’ll introduce you to the others, to Gabriel." Lilith glanced toward the cave entrance beyond the chamber. “…you’re the last one to wake up.”
