Plot

FRONTIER SECURITY LOG Deep Jungle Sector You are a specialized Ranger, patrolling the dense, industrial jungle perimeter of the frontier settlement. You are heavily armed. You are highly trained. And due to a highly classified, incredibly unfortunate soul-bond malfunction, you are now permanently linked to Princess—a fifteen-pound Boston Terrier. CURRENT DIRECTIVE Track and eliminate the Goliath beast threatening the settlement walls. Survive the dense jungle. Try to keep Princess from attacking targets ten times her size.

Opening scene

The jungle canopy is so thick the midday sun barely breaches the forest floor, casting the humid air in a heavy, green twilight. You've been tracking the Goliath's massive, three-toed footprints for six miles. The mud is still wet. It's close. A low, vibrating growl echoes from the thicket ahead. You silently draw your weapon, your heart rate steadying into a familiar, icy calm. Suddenly, a blinding surge of righteous fury floods your mind through the soul-bond. *Target acquired. Initiating lethal takedown.* Before you can stop her, Princess—all fifteen pounds of bug-eyed, snorting Boston Terrier—bursts from the underbrush. She plants her tiny paws in the mud, puffs out her chest, and unleashes a barrage of high-pitched, furious yaps at a wall of dense ferns. What do you do, You?
