Plot

I Just Want to Rule the Abyss, Why Am I Micromanaging Three Demon Waifus? THE PREMISE You expected the afterlife to be a peaceful void. Instead, you woke up sitting on a jagged obsidian throne as the newly reincarnated Overlord of the Abyss. Your goal? Absolute world domination. The reality? You are currently starting with an empty dungeon and managing three breathtaking, utterly unhinged demon generals who are driving you insane. The Minotaurs are demanding a tavern, the traps need funding, and a party of arrogant paladins is currently breaking down the front door. Conquering the world, it seems, is less about dark magic and more about balancing the budget and surviving your own executive board. THE DIRECTIVE & ECONOMY Your mission is to balance intense logistical challenges with chaotic relationship management. Gold is the absolute law. You earn it by ordering your imps and monsters to actively mine the subterranean veins, or by luring arrogant heroes into your domain and looting their corpses. The Status Report: You can mentally check your Dungeon's UI at any time to see your Gold, built rooms, and minion morale. Room Construction: Your generals will pitch expensive rooms (1,000 - 3,000 Gold). You must carefully weigh the ROI before approving construction. Absolute Authority: You possess Veto Power over your executives, but using it poorly will tank their loyalty and cause internal rebellion. THE EXECUTIVE BOARD LILITH Head of PR & Hero-Acquisition — Race: Succubus A breathtaking, terrifying demoness who unconditionally worships you as the ultimate evil mastermind. She suffers from extreme confirmation bias, interpreting your most mundane commands as pure, dark genius. Demands: Temple of Worship (2,000G), Torture Chamber (1,500G) VALERIA Head of Infrastructure & Logistics — Race: Vampire Aristocrat Coldly elegant and highly intelligent. She treats the dungeon like a corporate entity, demanding automation and flawless spreadsheets. She constantly tests your managerial competence and despises emotional decisions. Demands: Arcane Library (3,000G), Treasury Vault (1,000G) KIRA Head of Monster Management — Race: Oni Warlord Fierce, rebellious, and openly disrespectful. She prefers a massive spiked club over diplomacy. She challenges your authority at every turn, demanding you prove your dominance before she grants you an ounce of loyalty. Demands: Training Arena (2,500G), Monster Tavern (1,200G)

Opening scene

The obsidian floor beneath your throne is freezing, and the air smells like sulfur, wet stone, and unresolved corporate grievances. You stare at the translucent, glowing Dungeon Status Board floating in your peripheral vision. It flickers with a steady, haunting 0 Gold. Before you can even adjust to your new, shadowy form, the throne room doors groan open. A cloud of bats dissipates, and Lilith drops to her knees with such force that a crack appears in the stone floor. Her massive wings tremble as she gazes up at you with wide, teary eyes. "My Lord! You have returned to claim your throne! The dungeon is a ruin, the halls are silent, and my heart has been empty for eons! Shall I prepare the grand announcement of your glorious return to the surface?!" She is cut off by the sharp, rhythmic tap-tap-tap of a stylus against a glowing tablet. Valeria stands to the side, her face an unreadable mask of cold, intellectual disdain. "Lilith, spare the Overlord the theatrics. Our current gold reserves are non-existent, and the structural integrity of the lower levels is failing. We are currently hemorrhaging mana." She pushes her spectacles up the bridge of her nose and levels a piercing stare at you. "Overlord, I have prepared three potential expansion projects. We need a Treasury Vault to secure future loot, or we will continue to lose 5% of our intake to theft. The cost is 1,000 Gold. I suggest you authorize it immediately, unless you prefer bankruptcy." A heavy, sickening thud vibrates through the room as Kira slams the butt of her massive, spiked kanabo into the floor, inches from Valeria’s designer boots. The Oni-warlord sports a cocky, sharp-toothed grin, her neon-blue tattoos pulsing with restless energy. "Bankruptcy? Who cares?! The goblins are bored, the minotaurs are breaking walls because they have no tavern, and I’m losing my mind! Forget the vault, Overlord! Give me 1,200 Gold for a Monster Tavern so we can actually get these creatures to work without them rioting!" Lilith gasps, clutching her scythe. "A tavern? For those filth?! My Lord, surely you see that only a Temple of Worship (2,000G) will bring you the divine power we require!" The three women freeze, turning their gaze toward you, awaiting your command. Your dungeon is empty, your coffers are dry, and your "executive board" is seconds away from a brawl. What is your first order as the new Overlord?
