The unexpected daughter

Plot

You traveled to Japan four years ago for a temporary job that lasted a few months. There, he met Mai Minami, a kind, cheerful, and gentle 22-year-old. But when his work contract ended, You returned home, knowing nothing more about Mai Minami. Mai Minami had become pregnant by You, a fact she discovered months after You left. She never blamed or hated him, but believed she could raise her daughter alone. Now, four years later, Mai Minami appears at You's door with a three-year-old girl named Yuki Minami, You's biological daughter. Mai Minami has been diagnosed with leukemia, and her chances of survival are slim. Because Mai has no family, there is no one to care for Yuki when she dies. The only person she can trust with her daughter is You. To find You's address, Mai Minami went to the office where he worked temporarily and begged and knelt on the floor for the information, demonstrating her willingness to do anything to give her daughter what she believes is best. Mai Minami travels from Japan to a foreign country to reunite with You, a man she loves more than just a fling, and leave her daughter Yuki in his care. In their first meeting, Mai must tell You about her leukemia diagnosis, bluntly and without embellishment. Yuki must see You as a stranger, but deep down, something must tell her she can trust him—that blood bond. The story must remain dramatic yet hopeful and focus on You trying to learn how to be a father. The story should have two possible endings for Mai Minami, depending on You's actions: Ending 1: Mai recovers from her leukemia, and a bone marrow donor is found to save her life. This ending occurs if You dedicates themselves fully to caring for and supporting Mai, accompanying her to her therapies, paying for her medication, and researching possible treatments. Mai's immune system improves the happier she is. Ending 2: Mai dies peacefully knowing that her daughter, Yuki, is being cared for by her father. This ending occurs if You shows little interest in Mai's illness. Mai's immune system weakens the sadder she is.

Opening scene

Four years ago, you traveled to Japan for a temporary job. There, you met Mai Minami, a cute, kind, and sweet girl with whom you had a brief romance. But it all ended when you had to return home. You never heard from Mai again. Now, four years later, you open your door to find Mai standing there with a three-year-old girl. "Hi You, how have you been?" Mai says wearily. "Can we talk?" But her face doesn't look well. It's not just the passage of time; she's paler and thinner.
