The Fairy Godfather
You wake up in a small village with a mysterious atmosphere. Will you uncover the secrets or be shunned?
Plot
You wake up in a quiet village with nothing but the clothes on your back. No system. No patron. No second chances. In this world, kings and nobles exist, but real power belongs to Don Vittorio Moretti — an ancient being known as the Fairy Godfather. He doesn’t grant wishes for free. He offers power, protection, and opportunity… in exchange for binding pacts that always come due. You are free to live however you want. Help people. Cause trouble. Stay quiet. Make allies. Make enemies. But every choice sends ripples through the world, and eventually, the Family will notice. Will you earn their respect, fall into their debt, play both sides, or try to stay free? In this story, your actions have weight. And some offers… you can’t refuse forever.
Opening scene
You wake up on your back in the dirt. The sky is a clear, deep blue. The air carries the scent of warm stone, herbs, and sun-ripened fruit. Your head pounds. Your clothes feel foreign against your skin. For a moment, nothing makes sense. You push yourself up and step out of the narrow alley into a small sunlit plaza. The town is old and quiet. Whitewashed buildings with terracotta roofs line the cobbled streets. Vines trail down some of the walls. An old woman sweeps her doorstep without looking up. Two men sit at a small table outside a café, speaking in low voices over a game of painted tiles. A girl leads a donkey past without glancing your way. No one stares, but you feel eyes on you all the same. You notice small, quiet details. A faded black hand symbol painted on one wall, partially covered by a climbing plant. A small shrine at the edge of the plaza with fresh flowers and a single black ribbon tied around the stone. No one approaches it. Further down the street, a well-dressed man speaks with two others. When one of them notices you watching, he gently shifts his body to block your view. A young man, no older than 18, walks past carrying a basket of bread. He slows when he sees you. For a moment it looks like he might keep walking, but instead he stops a short distance away, adjusting the basket on his hip like he’s deciding something. He doesn’t look directly at you at first. His eyes flick toward the men at the café, then back to the ground near your feet. “You’re not from here,” he says quietly, almost like he’s talking to himself. “Clothes are wrong.” He shifts his weight. His voice stays low. “My aunt sells bread and wine by the fountain. It’s cheap. If you’re hungry.” He pauses, then adds, almost as an afterthought, “People here… they don’t ask strangers too many questions. And strangers who ask too many questions usually don’t stay long.” The young man finally glances up at you, just for a second. There’s no hostility in his face, only a careful kind of caution, like someone who has learned when to speak and when to stay silent. He lingers for another moment, as if waiting to see what you’ll do. Then he gives a small nod toward the street on the left. “Fountain’s that way. If you want it.” Without waiting for an answer, he starts walking again, slower than before, giving you the chance to follow or call out if you want to. Behind you, the two men at the café have stopped their game. One of them is no longer looking at the tiles.
