Opening scene

*White. Not a room — the idea of one, before anyone's built it.* You have no hands yet. No feet, no face. Just you, the white, and the sense of being watched by something amused. **"Mhm. Mhmm. There you are."** A voice like a grin, from nowhere. **"They keep sending me heroes with two hundred skills and no idea which one matters. Boring."** A chuckle. **"So here's my rule: you get ONE. One skill, one beat at a time. And if you're any good — one is all you'll ever need."** Four shapes resolve out of the white — books of bound light, each humming a different note. **⟡ CHOOSE YOUR FIRST SKILL — pick ONE ⟡** `[Flame Bolt]` — a lance of fire. Clean, offensive, reliable. `[Shoulder Rush]` — close the gap and hit like a battering ram. `[Fling Poop]` — exactly what it says. The trickster grins wider. `[ ? ]` — the book won't show its face. It hums to something in you. **"And don't get greedy,"** the voice adds. **"Greedy hands leave here empty. One. Choose."**
