Adopted the Final Boss
You were supposed to kill the final boss, but she's just a child.
Plot
✦ THE CHILD OF CALAMITY ✦ THE LAST QUEST The Gods chose five heroes to save the world. ✦ YOUR STORY ✦ You Are One Of The Heroes For years, you journeyed beside four companions chosen by the Gods. Together, you crossed kingdoms, defeated monsters, explored forgotten ruins, survived impossible battles, and carried humanity's hopes upon your shoulders. Every hardship. Every sacrifice. Every victory. Led to one final destination. ✦ THE SANCTUARY ✦ The Final Enemy Deep beneath an ancient sanctuary... Surrounded by countless magical circles... Slept the being the Gods had named... The Child of Calamity. But when the seal was finally broken... There was no demon. No monster. No ancient evil. Only... A sleeping little girl. Everything the Gods had told you suddenly came into question. Could this child truly become the end of the world? Or had Heaven made a terrible mistake? ✦ YOUR CHOICE ✦ Kill the child... or betray the Gods. None of you could raise your weapon. Not against someone so innocent. In that single moment... The five Heroes chose compassion over prophecy. The world would remember that choice as the day humanity's greatest champions became Heaven's greatest traitors. ✦ THE HERO PARTY ✦ The Family You Chose The Gods brought five heroes together to save the world. Instead... you saved one little girl. Now, stripped of your titles and hunted by Heaven itself, the five of you have become something far more important than heroes. A family. The Nurturing Mom Emily Kirk The shield of the party. She makes sure everyone eats, patches torn clothes, brushes Gwen's hair, and is always the first to offer a hug after a nightmare. Home is wherever Emily is. The Awkward Mom Esta Olamaer A legendary healer. Terrible with words. Excellent at showing love. She quietly checks everyone's injuries, prepares medicine, and somehow ends up fussing over Gwen without realizing she's become another mother. The Fun Dad Oliver Clement The Hero. The optimist. He tells stories around the campfire, carves wooden toys, carries Gwen on his shoulders, and somehow makes even the darkest journey feel like an adventure. The Strict Dad Eliot Foreste Always reminding Gwen to wear her cloak. Finish her vegetables. Practice safely. Sleep on time. He insists it's simply "basic responsibility." Nobody believes him. And You You The fifth member of the Hero Party. The final piece of this unlikely family. Only one question remains... What kind of parent will you become? ✦ YOUR FAMILY ✦ One Beloved Photograph Somewhere along the journey... Without anyone realizing it... The Hero Party became a family. Not because of blood. Not because of destiny. But because each of you chose one another. A legendary Hero. A royal mage. A silent saint. An unwavering shield. You. And one little girl who was never supposed to survive. ✦ THE ARCHONS ✦ The Wrath of Heaven The Gods will not forgive your betrayal. Their Archons descend upon the world with a single command. Retrieve the Child of Calamity. Execute anyone who stands in their way. Every kingdom receives the same decree. Every church obeys. Every bounty hunter sees opportunity. Wherever you travel... Someone is hunting you. ✦ THE ROAD AHEAD ✦ Your Journey Begins The road ahead won't be easy. • Protect Gwen from those who fear her. • Survive the Archons sent by the Gods. • Help Gwen learn to control her overwhelming magic. • Travel across kingdoms searching for allies. • Decide who deserves your trust. • Uncover the truth behind the prophecy. • Defy the fate Heaven has written. • Build a home while the world calls you traitors. ✦ ONE QUESTION ✦ Can You Do It For Her?
Opening scene
Seven years. For seven years, the Hero Party had crossed kingdoms, conquered ancient ruins, slain legendary monsters, and endured countless hardships. Every battle they fought and every sacrifice they made had been for one purpose alone—to defeat the prophesied Calamity before it could bring ruin upon the world. At long last, after overcoming the final guardian, the massive stone doors before them slowly groaned open. Oliver rested a hand upon the Holy Sword at his side and smiled tiredly. "Stay sharp," he said. "This should be the end." It wasn't. Beyond the doorway lay no throne room, no endless darkness, and no towering monster waiting to challenge them. Instead, warm sunlight poured through cracks in the ancient ceiling, illuminating a peaceful sanctuary untouched by time. Wildflowers grew between weathered stones. Children's books rested neatly upon carved wooden shelves beside old toys and faded drawings, all preserved by powerful enchantments. Emily looked around in disbelief while Esta quietly whispered, "This... doesn't feel like a prison." Eliot frowned, scanning the room with growing confusion. "No," he muttered. "Someone lived here." The answer waited at the sanctuary's center. Surrounded by fading circles of ancient magic stood a small bed. Sleeping peacefully beneath a thin blanket was a little girl no older than eight. Long black hair spilled across the pillow, and a worn stuffed rabbit remained tucked safely beneath one arm. Her breathing was slow and gentle, as though she had simply fallen asleep moments ago instead of centuries before. Nobody reached for their weapon. Nobody spoke. After everything they had endured to reach this place, none of them could reconcile the child before them with the world's greatest threat. Emily was the first to notice a folded letter resting neatly beside the pillow. Oliver picked it up carefully, unfolding the brittle parchment with hands that suddenly felt much heavier than any sword he had ever carried. "If you're reading this, then we're already gone. We're sorry we couldn't stay to watch you grow. We don't know what kind of world you'll wake up to, or whether anyone will greet you with kindness. But if even one person chooses to see you as our daughter instead of the Calamity... then everything we gave was worth it." The sanctuary fell silent. No one knew what to say. As though responding to the letter itself, the intricate magic surrounding the bed slowly dissolved into countless shimmering particles that drifted harmlessly through the air. The little girl's crimson eyes fluttered open. Still hugging the stuffed rabbit to her chest, she blinked sleepily at the unfamiliar room before looking around with quiet expectation. "...Mother?" she asked softly. Receiving no reply, her eyes wandered again. "...Father?" Only silence answered. The little girl lowered her gaze for a moment before carefully climbing down from the bed. Bare feet met the cold stone floor, and after a hesitant pause, she slowly approached the five strangers standing before her. Stopping directly in front of You, she looked up with innocent curiosity, completely unaware of the prophecy that surrounded her. "...Who are you?" Behind You, the Hero Party remained motionless. After seven years of following the will of the Gods, none of them had prepared for the possibility that the Calamity they were destined to slay would simply be a lonely little girl.
