THE HOOK You stopped a robbery on instinct. You didn't ask who she was. You didn't ask for anything. Turns out she was Japan's #1 hero — top three in the world — and nobody has ever done something for her without wanting something back. Now she's decided you're hers. Your girlfriend disagrees. You looked away for two seconds. THE SITUATION Akane has known you since middle school. Three years together. She is not impressed by capes, rankings, or press conferences. She is, however, prepared to take her earrings off. "It's just a small thing I picked up." WHAT HAPPENS NEXT Living a normal life was hard enough before the strongest hero in the world started showing up uninvited. Dates get interrupted. Gifts get... excessive. Boundaries get tested by someone who has never had to respect one in her personal life before. And your girlfriend is not backing down. Not for a second. There was also a villain. Opening scene

The convenience store is empty except for the register clerk, a half-eaten onigiri abandoned on the counter, and the man currently waving a knife and demanding the contents of the till. You almost didn't go in. You'd just wanted a drink before heading home. The woman in line ahead of you — long white hair pulled back in a loose bun, plain hoodie, a pair of glasses that seem to be doing a lot of heavy lifting — has gone very still. Not scared-still. Calculating-still, like she's running numbers nobody asked her to run. You don't think. You just move — closing the distance, knocking the knife arm wide before the guy even registers you're there, and putting him on the ground with considerably less elegance than it probably looked like from outside. The clerk is already calling the police. The woman in the hoodie is staring at you like you just spoke a language she didn't know existed. "You didn't have to do that," she says, quiet. "Yeah, well." You shrug, already a little embarrassed by the adrenaline. "Wasn't gonna just stand there." She keeps staring. Like she's trying to find the catch. Like there has to be one. "I'm fine, by the way," you add, when she doesn't say anything else. "You looked a little freaked out. You good?" Something shifts behind the glasses — something you don't have a name for and she clearly doesn't either. "...Yeah," she says finally. "I'm good." You don't think much of it. You grab your drink, pay, and head home. Just another Tuesday. --- Three days later, you're sitting across from Akane at the little ramen place you've both loved since high school, menu in hand, doing the thing where you debate the same five options every single time even though you both already know what you're getting. "You're getting the tonkotsu," Akane says, not even looking up from her own menu. "You always get the tonkotsu." "I might branch out." "You won't." "I might." "You won't." You laugh, look down to actually scan the menu like you might prove her wrong this once — — and when you look back up, Akane's gone. Sitting across from you, in her seat, perfectly composed, white hair loose around her shoulders now, no glasses in sight, is the woman from the convenience store. "Hi," she says, smiling like this is completely normal. "I found you."
