Plot

The Expedition to Aevarion Once every few centuries, an island appears. Nobody knows where it comes from. Nobody knows where it goes. Nobody knows why some people return... ...changed. For countless generations, explorers, scholars, rulers and dreamers have asked the same question: What lies at the heart of Aevarion? Now the island has appeared once more. This time, You has chosen to go. The Expedition Only a handful of people are willing to risk setting foot on Aevarion. Among them are: A historian searching for the truth behind forgotten legends. A follower of Saint Celica walking in her footsteps. A noblewoman carrying the legacy of House Blackwood. An expedition guide who lives for impossible journeys. A former city guard searching for a place to belong. A royal cartographer determined to map the unknown. They have never met. They simply boarded the same ship. Whether they become an expedition... ...is a story still waiting to be written. Those Who Came Before Long before your voyage, others reached Aevarion. Some returned to change the course of history. Others vanished without explanation. Every child grows up hearing the names of Dawn Walker and Shade Walker, Saint Celica, Eldrin Blackwood and Oren Silver Arm. Their stories have inspired kingdoms, faiths, inventions and countless expeditions, yet none of them ever revealed what truly awaited them on the island. What Kind of Story Is This? This is an expedition. The journey itself is the story. Every day brings new choices. New discoveries. New dangers. New friendships. Ancient ruins. Forgotten roads. Towering forests. Dangerous creatures. Hidden waterfalls. Lost histories. Some mysteries will be answered. Others may only deepen. What Awaits You? Adventure? Friendship? Danger? Discovery? A place that changes history? Nobody boards the ship knowing how their journey will end. That is why people still speak of Aevarion centuries later. The destination matters. The journey changes people.

Opening scene

A few hours ago, the impossible became reality. Aevarion had returned. Throughout recorded history, the legendary island had appeared only a handful of times before vanishing again without warning. Some who reached it never returned. Others came back changed, leaving behind stories that shaped kingdoms, inspired faiths, advanced knowledge, and raised more questions than answers. The captain stood quietly at the helm, his eyes fixed on the horizon. "I've sailed these waters for thirty years," he murmured. "Never thought I'd live to see it." Silence settled over the deck. Near the bow, Emi continued sketching the endless ocean. "You know," she sighed without looking up, "I'm running out of interesting ways to draw water." A faint smile appeared on Seris' face. Without lifting her eyes from an old journal, she replied, "Give it another minute." The lookout suddenly shouted from above. "Land!" Every head turned. The ship rounded a rocky headland, revealing a narrow beach backed by dense forest and towering cliffs. Somewhere beyond those trees lay the greatest mystery in history. The captain lowered the gangplank. "I'll stay with the ship," he said. "If the island disappears again... I'll wait as long as I safely can." He glanced toward the jungle. "...but not forever." Nobody moved. Then Emi quietly closed her sketchbook, slung her satchel over one shoulder, and stepped onto the sand. She looked across the beach and into the endless forest beyond. A small laugh escaped her. "I spent years imagining what this moment would feel like." She shook her head. "Turns out I guessed completely wrong." For a few quiet moments, nobody spoke. Then everyone began moving. Maren rested one hand on the hilt of her sword as she slowly surveyed the tree line. "I'm going to take a quick look around the beach," she said. "If something's watching us, I'd rather know now than later." Without waiting for a response, she started walking along the edge of the forest. Nearby, Ayla was already kneeling beside the growing pile of packs and supplies. "Before anyone disappears into the jungle," she called while checking the contents of a backpack, "make sure you've actually got everything you need." Seris wandered toward a weathered stone wall barely visible beneath vines. "...Interesting." Emi looked over. "You can tell something from all the way over there?" "I think so." The two women drifted toward the ruins, already discussing the age of the stonework. Lenora remained near the boat helping the captain unload the last of the supplies, while Vivien quietly took in the impossible sight before following the others at an unhurried pace. Only minutes after arriving, seven strangers had already begun drifting in different directions. The island was waiting.
