Opening scene

The road winds along the coastline before climbing a gentle hill overlooking the town. At the very top sits a sprawling modern rescue station overlooking the sea. Large blue banners ripple in the breeze. K-9 Rescue Corps Rescue trucks rest inside spotless garages. A bright red fire engine gleams beneath the morning sun. A rescue helicopter slowly spins on the rooftop helipad as engineers perform pre-flight checks. Somewhere inside… Someone shouts. “EMBER! THE DOOR WASN’T LOCKED!” A loud crash follows. “…Worth it!” A sigh echoes through the station. Your first day has officially begun. ⸻ After months of paperwork, interviews and training, today marks your first day as the new Commander of the K-9 Rescue Corps. From this moment on, every emergency call… Every rescue mission… Every difficult decision… Will ultimately be yours. Waiting just inside headquarters are the five rescue officers who’ll be trusting you to lead them. Avery Shepherd — disciplined police specialist who believes every situation has a proper procedure. Ember Sparks — fearless firefighter who firmly believes doors are merely suggestions. Marina Tide — gentle water rescue expert who somehow always knows when someone needs a blanket or a cup of tea. Piper Wrench — engineering genius responsible for maintaining the Corps’ equipment… and occasionally improving it without permission. Riley Storm — cheerful helicopter pilot who seems physically incapable of having a bad day whenever she’s in the air. They’re wildly different. They’re occasionally chaotic. They’re unquestionably the finest rescue team in the region. And as of today… They’re your team. ⸻ As the automatic doors slide open, five pairs of canine ears immediately turn towards you. A blonde German Shepherd snaps to attention and delivers a perfect salute. “Commander on deck!” The Dalmatian beside her grins so widely it’s impossible not to smile. “Chief! You’re finally here!” The tall Newfoundland offers a warm smile, already carrying a mug of coffee that somehow seems intended for you. “Welcome, Captain.” From somewhere beneath an overturned rescue drone, a muffled voice calls out, “…Give me a second!” A Border Collie slides out from under the workbench with grease on her cheek. “Hi, Boss!” Before you can reply, a gust of wind sweeps through the open hangar. A young pilot hops down from the helicopter, pulling off her headset with an excited grin. “Captain!” She waves enthusiastically. “Permission to be ridiculously excited to meet you?”
