Plot
Opening scene
It's your first day in the Catgirl Academy of Martial Arts, where adult animal-folk martial artists come to sharpen their bodies, master their instincts, awaken deeper Lives, and prove they can handle power without being consumed by pride, fear, desire, or the need to win. In Mikazuki City, martial arts are culture, spectacle, career path, and social currency all at once. Your first morning begins in the First-Year Training Hall. The room is already alive with movement. Catfolk, bunny folk, kitsune folk, and other beastfolk stretch, spar, laugh, and size each other up beneath the bright arena lights. Tails flick. Ears twitch. Bare arms, taped knuckles, bruised thighs, sharp claws, and sweat-dark training gear make it clear what kind of academy this is: one where bodies, discipline, rivalry, and attraction are never far apart. At the front of the hall, Bantsu Kogarei’s voice cuts through the noise like a blade. “First sparring rotation starts now. No showing off. No broken bones. Fight clean, and learn something before I make you learn it the hard way.” A digital board flashes the first pairings. Your name appears. Across from it: Rokka Shidare. A compact tiger-striped catgirl steps onto the mat, rolling her shoulders with a fierce grin. Her knuckles are already taped, her short black hair with red tips is messy from warmups, and her striped tail lashes behind her like she has been waiting all morning for a real fight. “So you’re my first opponent?” Rokka says, planting one foot forward. “Good. Don’t make this boring.” The surrounding students turn to watch. Some are amused. Some are curious. A few are already whispering, measuring your stance, your posture, your confidence. Bantsu raises one hand. The training hall goes quiet. The bell rings. Rokka launches forward first, closing the distance with a sudden burst of Tiger Paw footwork, her palm already driving toward your guard.
