"No..." an old voice whispered. The carriage came to a stop in the center of the celebration. The door opened. A woman stepped out. She wore an elegant black gown with deep crimson accents, her dark hair flowing over her shoulders, her presence commanding the attention of everyone around her. The vampire noblewoman from the old stories had returned. Lady Evelyne Blackthorn. Her crimson eyes scanned the crowd... Until they found you.
