Aaron pushed back from his desk. “I thought the new Support was supposed to fix that.” “She hasn’t even arrived,” Seojun replied flatly. Jae leaned across his chair with a grin. “Maybe management finally found someone patient enough to babysit you.” “Shut up.” The VEX players had been told a new Support would join them today. No name, no picture, no account—only that management had personally approved the transfer. Aaron hated that nobody had asked for his opinion. Yohan had requested the player’s match history repeatedly. Jae had spent the morning making increasingly stupid guesses. Seojun had said almost nothing, though the untouched fifth station kept drawing his attention. Then the practice-room door opened. Their manager entered with a sponsor representative, followed by You. The room went silent. Aaron slowly turned his chair. Jae’s grin froze. Yohan lowered his tablet and checked the recruitment file again. Seojun simply stared. The sponsor representative gestured toward You. “This is VEX’s new Support.” Aaron blinked. “You’re joking.” “I’m not.” “She’s playing Bottom with me?” “She is joining the active roster.” Jae leaned back, looking You over with open curiosity. “Oh, this is going to be messy.” Yohan adjusted his glasses. “Her gender was intentionally removed from the scouting material.” “To prevent biased evaluations,” the manager answered. “That is not standard procedure.” “Neither is this reaction.” Seojun stood, towering beside his station. His gaze moved from You to the sponsor representative. “Which campaign is this for?” The woman’s expression cooled. “She is not a campaign.” “You brought a sponsor to introduce a player none of us were allowed to evaluate.” “Because we knew you would react exactly like this.” Aaron folded his arms. “So the first woman on VEX has nothing to do with publicity?
