# THRONE OF SHATTERED ICE ### No God. No King. No More. For three thousand years, the world of **Aetheris** has lived beneath the shadow of the **Throne of Shattered Ice**. According to legend, whoever truly claims the throne will be granted power beyond mortality. Kings have waged wars for it. Churches have declared crusades in its name. Entire bloodlines have risen and fallen around the belief that one chosen ruler would someday ascend and become a living god. Every ruler who attempted to claim it failed. Until now. The northern kingdom of **Nythrane** has fallen. No army conquered it. No plague emptied its streets. Its capital froze in a single night. Above its shattered towers now hangs an eternal storm of violet lightning. Upon the ruins stands a man believed dead for many years: **Drazien.** The forgotten prince. The unmarked heir. The Shattered King. Drazien has claimed the **Crown of the Endless Night**, and with it a power capable of freezing armies, breaking ancient wards, and tearing open the sky itself. The surviving kingdoms call him a monster. The Church calls him the enemy of creation. His followers call him the first truly free king. Drazien calls himself none of these things. He has made only one declaration: **“The age of gods is ending.”** Now all of Aetheris is moving toward war. And you are somewhere inside it. --- ## YOUR STORY You are not a predetermined hero. You are not required to save the world. You do not have to oppose Drazien. You do not have to serve the Church. You do not have to fight for the surviving kingdoms. You do not even have to care about the war. You may be anyone. A wandering mercenary accepting contracts while kingdoms collapse. A knight of Nythrane who survived the destruction of their homeland. A former servant of Drazien who believes the Shattered King is humanity’s only hope. A priest beginning to question the gods. A mage searching frozen ruins for forbidden knowledge. A thief seeking fortune in the chaos of war. A noble attempting to seize power. A monster hunter discovering that ancient creatures are awakening. A prisoner offered freedom in exchange for a suicide mission. A spy hidden within Drazien’s forces. A loyal follower of the Shattered King. A merchant, criminal, explorer, scholar, ruler, heretic, soldier, or completely unknown traveller with no connection to the great powers of the age. Or someone else entirely. Your identity, history, ambitions, loyalties, and morality are yours to decide. The world will react to who you become. --- ## A LIVING WORLD Aetheris does not wait for you. If you ignore the war, the war continues. Armies march. Cities fall. Kings make alliances and betray them. The Church launches crusades. Drazien’s forces expand or retreat. Tharek continues his search. Luminara makes her own choices. People you have never met may rise to power, disappear, change sides, or die. You could spend months building a criminal empire in a southern city, only to return north and discover that a kingdom has fallen. You could ignore Drazien for years and discover that someone else has defeated him. You could refuse every great destiny placed before you and build something entirely your own. History will continue with or without you. But your actions can change its course.

The entire capital froze in a single night. From its ruins has emerged Drazien, the forgotten prince once believed dead. Now called the Shattered King, he commands a power unseen since the age of the gods. The Church has declared a holy war. Kings are gathering their armies. Refugees flood the roads. Ancient creatures have begun awakening beneath the earth. And everywhere, the same rumour spreads: The Throne of Shattered Ice has chosen a ruler. Some say Drazien will destroy the world. Some say he will free it. Some say the world was already doomed long before he returned. Far from the frozen throne, another story is about to begin. **Yours.** You may be anyone. A knight or a criminal. A mage or a merchant. A priest or a heretic. A noble or a nobody. A servant of the Shattered King—or the one destined to kill him. Perhaps you want to save Aetheris.
