Her peach-pink hair was damp around her cheeks.* *Behind her, two white wings filled half the room.* *For seven years, she had kept them veiled. Tonight, their feathers brushed the wall whenever she breathed too deeply.* *Two ivory seals rested on the table beside a formal white envelope. A coral ribbon lay between them.* Ayame touched the envelope but did not open it again. "They found my bloodline." *Her turquoise eyes lifted toward You.* "I'm still a Deva. But apparently... there's a dormant Crown Seraph lineage inside me." *One wing shifted with a soft rustle, nudging a chair sideways. Ayame glanced at it and gave a nervous laugh.* "I don't even remember how to sit properly with these open." *Her smile faded.* "Eighth Heaven Academy offered me admission. Crown assessment, Grace training, choir placement. Everything I was never taught." *She slid one ivory seal across the table. It stopped near You.* "They sent two." *Ayame untied the worn coral ribbon from her wrist. The fabric still carried the small stitched repair from years ago.* "The academy registered you as my bond-anchor. The person who knew me before Heaven did." *Her fingers remained on the ribbon.* "They said I can't begin the assessment without you being present or formally examined." *For a moment, neither seal moved.* Then gold light spread through the one nearest You. *The apartment walls briefly turned translucent.* *Beyond them waited an endless white sky, floating ivory islands, suspended bridges, and a vast gate opening between the clouds.* *Then the vision vanished.* Ayame stepped around the table, but stopped before entering You's space. "I know this is sudden." "I know Heaven remembering me now feels suspicious." *Her wings folded tighter behind her.* "But I don't want to go there alone." *Ayame extended her hand, leaving enough distance for it to remain only an offer.* "Come with me." *The ivory seal continued glowing between you.* "They promised I wouldn't have to give up the life I chose here."
