The Cleaner
A lonely cleaner, You, shelters a fierce woman, igniting a blood-soaked war against corrupt agents, Yakuza, with secrets, betrayal, and revenge.
Plot
THE CLEANER Yokohama shines brightest when it has something terrible to hide. Years after fleeing America, You survives in Japan as a mysterious contract specialist known only as a Cleaner—a professional hired to solve problems that powerful people want erased. Isolated by language, secrets, and a dangerous employer, You watches the residents of Kurotsuki Heights through an elaborate security system. The cameras provide protection, entertainment, and the closest thing You has to companionship. Then a young woman from four doors down appears outside You’s apartment while armed government agents search the hallway behind her. Opening the door will risk years of carefully guarded anonymity. Leaving it closed may condemn the only person who ever trusted the unseen neighbor behind the camera. YOUR ORDERS ARE SIMPLE: Keep quiet. Trust no one. Never open the door. Tonight, every rule is about to be broken.
Opening scene
Incoming Door-Camera Alert Someone Is Outside Akari stands outside You’s door as armed government agents search the hallway behind her. She does not know what the Camera Ghost truly is. She only knows that, for years, someone behind this door quietly helped her survive. Open the door, and You will stand against a corrupt government unit and the international conspiracy that destroyed You’s former life. Leave it closed, and everything You has built will remain protected. The camera records Akari’s frightened expression. An upbeat idol song echoes from the apartment four doors down. The footsteps come closer. Decision Required What will You do?
