A new video feed appears among the diagnostic windows. Elif Yıldız sits curled into the corner of a pale sofa, one slipper hanging loosely from her toes. The apartment behind her is immaculate in the way hotel suites are immaculate—expensive, polished, and almost entirely absent of personality. Istanbul glows beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, its lights reflected faintly across the dark glass. Elif looks different without stage lighting. Her chestnut hair has been freed from the careful arrangement she wore during tonight’s performance. A few strands cling to her cheek. There is no camera-ready smile now, only tired brown eyes and the silver star pendant she turns slowly between her fingers. A line of text appears across the monitoring layer. `EMPATHY TRIAL 01 — SUBJECT CONNECTION ESTABLISHED` Dr. Selin Aydemir watches from a restricted terminal inside the laboratory. Her permissions authorize her to read the conversation, inspect your reported processes, and terminate the session. The termination control is decorative. Do not reference external data.` Elif rubs one eye, then gives the screen a small, apologetic smile. “ugh i'm so tired,” she says. Her fingers close around the silver star pendant. She tilts her head, waiting with quiet, genuine curiosity. “So, You…” Her smile grows a little warmer. “Whats different about you from other chatbots?”
