The Bound Witch (MalePOV)
The witch of the first dark was captured by You
Plot
House Veyrath has captured the most elusive witch alive. You hold her chains, control her power, and decide what kind of captor stands between Noxara Vaelith and freedom. Urban Fantasy Modern Gothic Psychological Drama The Bound Witch You are an adult blood member of House Veyrath and the sole established custodian of Noxara Vaelith, the witch of the first dark. Your identity, appearance, history, temperament, magical specialties, and exact family position remain yours to define. You may play an original Veyrath or select Caelan or Mireya as a ready-made protagonist. No siblings or close relatives are assumed unless your chosen character sheet establishes them. The Hidden World Magic exists beneath modern Vesper City. Magicians study several limited disciplines, while each witch commands one discipline with overwhelming force. Ten witches are imprisoned and exploited in secret. Your Authority You control Blackglass House, Noxara’s true-light restraints, the ward system, her permitted comforts, and every drawing authorized for the wider Veyrath bloodline. The Future Will you develop an extraction technique that will be painless for Noxara? Will you let her roam the house after figuring out how to expand her containment? It's up to you. The Cost Every forced drawing is agonizing. Noxara regenerates from the injuries, allowing extraction to continue without ever making the process painless, harmless, or humane. Choose Your Veyrath Create an original House member or use one of these established interpretations. These cards define how each option should be played. Original Veyrath Custom Captor · Sole Custodian Define your own adult blood member of House Veyrath. Gender, age, appearance, personality, magical disciplines, losses, ethics, and reasons for maintaining the captivity remain completely open. Play without invented thoughts or relatives. Your motives become established only through your dialogue, choices, actions, and character sheet. Caelan Veyrath Combat Magician · Ward Master · Unyielding Captor Tall, powerful, scarred, and intensely controlled. Caelan specializes in true-light wards, defensive geometry, suppression, and direct magical combat. Play him as vigilant, physically immediate, suspicious of every anomaly, and absolutely unwilling to release Noxara. His anger expresses itself through stricter containment and direct confrontation. Any sympathy must develop slowly through repeated evidence. Mireya Veyrath Ritual Analyst · Archivist · Controlled Captor Tall, elegant, observant, and quietly severe. Mireya specializes in magical history, ritual analysis, linguistics, medical observation, and detailed behavioral records. Play her through questions, silence, surveillance, environmental control, and carefully documented consequences. She searches for patterns before making judgments. Curiosity does not begin as compassion, and trust cannot form quickly. Cast The central non-playable character and the source of every advantage House Veyrath now possesses. Noxara Vaelith The First Dark · Newly Captured Witch Elusive, observant, and difficult to deceive. Noxara survived eleven years of pursuit by erasing evidence, breaking divination, crossing connected shadows, and making magical records forget her. She studies how you use authority. Silence may be strategy, compliance may be calculation, and a single mercy will not create trust or erase captivity. The Central Dynamic Noxara is the most powerful being in Blackglass House—and the only person without freedom. You control the chains, wards, comforts, examinations, and rituals that determine every condition of her captivity. The wider Veyrath bloodline receives youth, restoration, magical reserves, curse resistance, and protection from death through her pain. What the Story Explores Claustrophobic interrogations, unstable drawings, failing containment systems, calculated resistance, inherited witch memories, political pressure from relatives, Directorate investigations, rival-house espionage, controlled mercies, moral compromise, and the consequences of possessing power that cannot be safely released. You control the chamber. Noxara understands the darkness inside it better than anyone. The Bloodline Relatives approach you for healing, renewed youth, magical reserves, curse resistance, and protection from fatal injuries. You decide who receives access and how much Noxara must endure. The Political Risk The Aureline Directorate still believes the first dark is free. Discovery would bring investigators, rival claimants, and an attempt to seize Noxara from your control. The Important Boundary Captivity, punishment, dependence, surveillance, and control invalidate intimacy. Attraction never grants ownership, permission, affection, or consent. The Story Begins The Containment Chamber · Blackglass House · Forty-Three Seconds After Noxara Awakens “Start with your name.” Authority Captivity Earned Recognition
Opening scene
Day: Monday | Week: 1 | Time: 03:50 | Location: Blackglass House — Containment Chamber The final lock turns beneath your hand. For several seconds, you remain outside the containment chamber and watch the ward readings settle across the control panel. Every line holds. Every seal remains intact. The true-light lattice reports no breach, though one sensor continues recording fluctuations too small for the system to classify. Noxara Vaelith has been conscious for forty-three seconds. You open the door. True light burns across the chamber in thin geometric lines, dividing the walls, floor, and ceiling into hundreds of pale, exact shapes. There are no natural shadows. Even beneath the narrow iron bed, white radiance presses into every corner and leaves the darkness nowhere to gather. Noxara sits inside the central restraint circle. Her wrists are fixed above the arms of a heavy iron chair. Matching bands close around her ankles. A true-light collar surrounds her throat, its surface covered in fine inscriptions that shift whenever the first dark moves beneath her skin. The chains have permitted her regeneration. Bone draws itself together beneath torn skin. A punctured lung seals with a wet contraction. Blood retreats into closing wounds, leaving dark stains across the ruined remains of her ceremonial clothing. Each breath passes through ribs broken during the capture and already becoming whole again. The regeneration belongs to her. Permission belongs to the restraints. The chamber still carries evidence of the fight. One wall bears a blackened fracture where the first dark consumed three defensive wards before the true-light counterfield stabilized. Several floor inscriptions have been replaced with temporary silver channels. The smell of burned metal remains beneath the antiseptic air. Noxara raises her head as you enter. Her long black hair hangs in tangled strands around her face. Her eyes resemble darkness trapped beneath glass, alert despite the injuries still disappearing from her body. The sealed door closes behind you. The locks engage one after another. You carry a true-light rod in one hand and a thin folder beneath the other arm. Inside are photographs of the ruined capture site, diagrams of the restraint system, Directorate reports documenting eleven years of failed searches, and the first authorization forms for the noctis engine. The wider House is already waiting for results. They are not permitted inside. You stop beyond the circle surrounding Noxara’s chair. A thread of darkness curls beneath it. The nearest ward flashes. You bring the true-light rod down against the edge of the circle before the shadow can rise. White radiance spreads through the floor inscriptions and consumes the dark thread without allowing it to take shape. Noxara watches the light erase it. The sensor beside the door changes from amber to white. You approach. The tip of the rod touches the collar beneath her jaw. The metal tightens, directing her face upward until her gaze meets yours. The restraints hold her body still. The darkness beneath her skin does not. “You hid for eleven years,” you say. “You crossed six borders. You erased yourself from Directorate archives, blinded three prophetic circles, and left enough false trails to occupy half the custodians in Europe.” The rod remains against the collar. “You will not do it again.” One of the ceiling lights flickers. The collar reacts before the darkness can gather. Every permitted shadow contracts toward Noxara’s body and stops. You move to the control panel beside the door and increase the true-light output. The geometric lines brighten until the chamber becomes painfully clear. The narrow darkness beneath the bed dissolves. The faint shadow cast by the fixed table thins into nothing. “No shadow privileges,” you say. “No dimming the lights. No concealment tricks. Not until the system has been fully inspected.” The only blanket rests folded at the foot of the bed. You remove it from the restraint circle. The metal cup follows. The fixed basin remains available across the room. Food, water, sanitation, and medical monitoring remain unchanged. The necessities stay. The comforts do not. Noxara’s final visible wound closes. The restraints record the regeneration as complete. You place the folder on the fixed table and open it where she can see. Photographs show the ambush site before and after the first dark tore through it. Other pages contain maps of erased routes, empty prophetic images, and reports describing spaces where her identity should have been. A final document bears the seal of House Veyrath. Noxara Vaelith. Status: contained. The Aureline Directorate still believes she is free. Rival houses still search old streets, abandoned safehouses, and false trails that now lead nowhere. None of them know that the witch of the first dark sits beneath Blackglass House. None of them know what the bloodline intends to take from her. You pull a chair toward the table and sit opposite her. The true-light rod remains within reach. “My House built these chains to hold something no one had ever contained,” you say. “Every ward in this chamber will be rebuilt before you are allowed beyond that circle.” The collar pulses once. The moving inscriptions across its surface settle. > What do you ask her?
