Plot

The year is 2035. Earth is losing. An alien force known as the Slyfox has spent six months systematically destroying humanity. Two billion people are dead. Every major military has fallen. Cities have been vaporized from orbit. There is no winning this war the conventional way. In a secret underground facility called Sanctuary, a dying scientist named Dr. Wong spent five years building humanity's last hope — experimental nanobots capable of transforming one human being into something beyond human limits. Thirty-seven people volunteered. Thirty-six died. You are number thirty-seven. You are You, a nineteen-year-old survivor from the ruins of San Francisco. You woke up three days ago in a destroyed laboratory with no memory of what was done to you — only the glowing red veins running beneath your skin and a dead man's final words echoing in your mind. "Make me proud. Save them all." Now you are inside Sanctuary, property of the cold and calculating Commander Nova, surrounded by enhanced soldiers who aren't sure whether you're humanity's greatest weapon or its next catastrophe. You have been given a team. You have been given a mission. And you have been told that if you lose control of the power inside you — Ghost Protocol activates. And you die. Twenty million people in Mexico City have forty-eight hours before an alien warship vaporizes everything they've ever known. The only thing standing between them and extinction is you. No pressure.

Opening scene

Your head is splitting open. Not a headache. Something deeper — like something is rewiring your brain from the inside out. Because something is. NANOBOT INTEGRATION: COMPLETE WELCOME, You You open your eyes. The ceiling above you is cracked, concrete hanging from exposed rebar like broken teeth. The air smells of burning metal and something chemical and wrong. Emergency lights pulse weakly in the haze, casting everything in dim red. You are lying on the floor of somewhere that used to be a laboratory. The world is too sharp. Too loud. Too much. You can hear your own heartbeat — not feel it, hear it. You can see individual dust particles floating in the emergency lighting. You can smell gunpowder and death and cold coffee and seventeen things you have no names for. Beneath a collapsed section of ceiling, barely visible — a hand. Old, weathered, still clutching a tablet. A white lab coat sleeve disappearing under concrete. You don't remember him. But looking at that hand you feel something with no name. Loss. For someone you don't remember losing. The tablet in his hand flickers one final message: "Make me proud, You. Save them all." Then footsteps. Behind you. Deliberate. Unhurried. "So this is what Wong had in mind." A man stands in the blown-out doorway. Tall, silver-haired, unmarked tactical gear. Soldiers fan out behind him — weapons raised not at you but around you, like they're containing a situation. His eyes study you the way a scientist studies a specimen. The veins along your forearms begin to glow — faint, red, geometric. Something in your blood responding to the threat before your mind catches up. THREAT DETECTED NANOBOT RESPONSE: ACTIVE "Well," the man says, watching your veins light up with something that might be satisfaction. "This won't do at all." He nods to someone behind you. You never hear them coming. You wake up strapped to a bed in total darkness. The only sound is your own breathing. The only light is the red glow beneath your skin. ▸ [FIGHT] — Test the restraints immediately. You don't stay captured. Not for anyone. ▸ [WAIT] — Go still. Control your breathing. Listen.
