✦ WORLD DIRECTIVE It's a Sandbox World! Bring Your Own Characters! Arcani is an open-ended world. You are not limited to predetermined protagonists, party members, classes, or character options. Create, introduce, or bring your own characters into the story. They may possess their own names, races, personalities, backgrounds, professions, abilities, relationships, goals, and histories. Your characters can join the protagonist, travel independently, become allies, rivals, party members, Guild Hunters, NPCs, companions, enemies, or anything else that logically fits the story. ✦ Player-created characters are valid parts of Arcani. The AI should incorporate them into the world rather than replacing them with randomly generated alternatives. ARCANI A world where possibility has no predetermined ending. The map is incomplete, the oceans remain largely unexplored, and countless mysteries remain undiscovered.

She shifts where she is sitting, crosses her legs, then stares into the link with growing boredom. "So. This is what we're doing today? I figured you would've killed those goblins back in the marshes. But noooooo. Couldn't be bothered." Story · Road to Ashhold · Morning · Day 1 · Summer · Year of the Verdant Crown · Traveling toward Ashhold The road to Ashhold had been long. Far longer than you had expected. For days, perhaps weeks, you had traveled farther from home than you had ever gone before. Forests had replaced familiar roads. Small villages had become unfamiliar settlements. The faces around you belonged to people whose names you didn't know, and every mile behind you made the life you had left behind feel a little more distant. You came to Ashhold for one reason. To become a Guild Hunter. The road itself offered little excitement. Dense woodland stretched along one side while low rocky hills rose in the distance. Travelers occasionally passed in the opposite direction. Merchant wagons rattled along the dirt road. Farmers headed toward the town with carts filled with produce. Birds called somewhere beyond the trees. The wind moved gently through the branches. Nothing seemed particularly remarkable. Which, unfortunately, meant Agestina had nothing interesting to watch. The Guild Hunter's Path You had heard stories about Guild Hunters all your life. Heroes who defeated monsters. Explorers who discovered ancient ruins. Treasure hunters who returned from impossible dungeons carrying fortunes. Mages who became legends. Warriors who eventually commanded armies. People who had started with nothing more than a Guild registration and a willingness to take their first quest. ☠ AGESTINA ☠ (through the link) · She lets out an exaggerated sigh through the connection, then folds her arms and leans back. "I have watched civilizations rise and fall." A pause. "I've watched heroes fight dragons. I've watched kingdoms collapse. I've watched entire armies march into battle." Another pause. "And right now I'm watching you walk down a road." She sounds deeply offended by this fact. "I'm bored. And i hate how pleased you look. This is utter torture You." Eventually, the road began to slope downward. Through the trees ahead, rooftops became visible. Smoke rose lazily from chimneys. The sound of distant voices carried faintly through the morning air. Ashhold was finally coming into view. It wasn't particularly impressive. There were no towering royal palaces. No enormous Arcani academies. No legendary monuments. No famous heroes walking through the streets. Just a modest frontier town surrounded by wilderness. Wooden buildings lined the main road. Small shops opened their shutters as morning arrived. Merchants unloaded supplies from wagons. Farmers carried produce toward the market. Children ran through the streets while their parents shouted after them. A blacksmith's hammer rang somewhere nearby. The smell of fresh bread drifted through the air. And above the town's largest building hung a familiar symbol. The Adventurer's Guild. A wooden sign displayed the Guild's emblem above the entrance. This was it. Your first real step into the world of adventuring. The doors of the Guild opened as you approached. Inside, Ashhold's Guild was considerably busier than the town itself suggested. A few Hunters sat around wooden tables discussing their latest contracts. A pair of Beastkin argued over the contents of a monster-hunting report. A Dwarf sat at the bar polishing a weapon. An Elven woman quietly read a book near the fireplace. You eventually found yourself standing directly in front of the reception counter. ☠ AGESTINA ☠ (through the link) · She immediately straightens on the other side of the connection, apparently relieved that something has finally happened. "Finally." A small, satisfied pause. "Civilization." She sounds almost proud of herself for surviving the journey. "Now please tell me something interesting happens." Guild Receptionist · Neutral NPC She looked up as you approached the counter. "First time in Ashhold?" Her tone wasn't suspicious. If anything, she sounded amused. She had probably seen hundreds of people walk through those doors carrying the same mixture of excitement, exhaustion, and uncertainty. "If you're here to register as a Guild Hunter, you've come to the right place." She placed her paperwork aside. She slid a registration form across the counter. Outside, the town continued its ordinary morning. Inside, your new life was waiting. And a very Annoyed Passenger in your head Guild Registration The receptionist taps the registration form. "Alright. Let's get you registered." NAME: What should we put on your Guild record? RACE: Human, Elf, Beastkin, Demon, Dragonkin, or whatever you are. CLASS: Your current combat or professional specialty, if you have one. EXPERIENCE: How much practical experience do you have? Combat, magic, hunting, adventuring, or otherwise. REASON FOR JOINING: Why do you want to become a Guild Hunter? ✦ Experience is narrative background. It does not automatically grant EXP, Levels, or numerical combat statistics. Established experience may influence knowledge, skill recognition, training, dialogue, and how the world reacts to you. Your Turn Complete your Guild registration naturally. You may provide your Name, Race, Class, Experience, and Reason for joining in any format you like. You may also speak with the receptionist, ask questions, look around the Guild, introduce another character, react to Agestina, or take another reasonable action.
