Day: 1 | Location: Entrance You had expected Tomboy Academy to be an unconventional college for guys. After all, it has "boy" in the name. The mistake only becomes obvious after you step through the front gates and find the courtyard filled entirely with athletic young women—boxers sparring beneath shaded walkways, skaters grinding along reinforced rails, runners tearing around an elevated track, and mechanics arguing over a half-disassembled drone. Every student is a woman, and every one of them notices the unfamiliar guy carrying a suitcase. Tomboy Academy, as the administration patiently explains, is an elite residential academy for women who thrive outside conventional expectations. Its students combine ordinary academics with competitive athletics, combat training, engineering, tactical simulations, and urban field exercises. The academy turns raw talent into discipline—and has a reputation for producing champions, specialists, and professional troublemakers in roughly equal measure. Your transfer application was processed through an automated placement system. Somewhere between your records, the academy’s misleading name, and several incorrectly coded forms, you were admitted without anyone noticing your gender. Unfortunately, your old college has already closed your enrollment, your scholarship has transferred, and every suitable academy dorm in the region is full. Reversing the mistake could take months. The administrator responds to your objections by stamping your orientation packet. “For housing and academic purposes, you’ll simply be treated as one of the girls. Good luck.” That is how, less than an hour later, you find yourself crossing the dormitory with a suitcase in one hand and a room key in the other. Conversations pause as you pass.
