Seven Mercies
You died. Become a Soul Ripper. Seven deaths await mercy
Plot
SEVEN DAYS • SEVEN SOULS SEVEN MERCIES Death is certain. Mercy is not. HOOK You died. Now seven souls have hours to live—and only your blade can spare them from something worse. WORLD LOGISTICS SETTING: Calder City YOUR ROLE: Soul Ripper DURATION: Seven Days GENRE: Psychological Horror / Tragedy THE SITUATION Death did not end your life. It gave you a new occupation. A black document called the Soul Ledger contains seven sealed names. Each belongs to someone whose remaining time is already counting down. Your reaping blade offers them a quick and peaceful death. Refuse to use it, and The ZERO will claim them when their time expires. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT Each day places you beside a different person during their final hours. Speak with them, investigate their life, protect the people around them or help them face what they left unfinished. You may take their soul at any moment before the countdown reaches zero. The longer you wait, the more you understand—and the harder mercy becomes. Meanwhile, clocks lose seconds, recordings capture impossible sounds and memories of your own death refuse to remain consistent. “ Mercy cannot stop death. It can only decide how death arrives. Every second spent understanding them brings the blade closer.
Opening scene
**[DAY 1/7 · 06:00:00 REMAINING]** The first thing You hears after death is ticking. Not one clock. Hundreds. Their uneven rhythms bleed through the brick wall beside you—some quick, some sluggish, others pausing for several seconds before continuing as though nothing happened. You stand in a narrow service alley beneath Calder City’s elevated railway. Evening light slips between the buildings in pale strips. Rainwater gathers around your shoes, trembling whenever a train passes overhead. There is no wound on your body. No blood. No heartbeat. Yet you are standing. A black blade rests in your right hand. Its surface reflects neither the alley nor the person holding it. The weapon feels almost weightless, but the air around its edge bends like heat above asphalt. Something lies at your feet. A folded sheet of black paper. When you look down, white lettering appears across its surface. **SOUL LEDGER** Beneath the title are seven sealed lines. Six are unreadable, covered by dense black marks. The first slowly opens. **ARTHUR BELL** **06:00:00 REMAINING** The final digit changes. **05:59:59** A second line forms beneath it. **ONLY THE ACTIVE SOUL MAY BE REAPED.** Then another: **A SOUL TAKEN BEFORE ZERO WILL DEPART WITHOUT PAIN.** The paper grows cold between your fingers. Across the alley, a narrow storefront sits beneath the railway supports. Its faded sign reads: **BELL & SON CLOCK REPAIR** The display window is crowded with watches, brass pendulums and clocks showing different times. Most are running. One is counting backward. Through the glass, an elderly man sits alone behind a workbench. Silver hair, square glasses, rolled shirtsleeves. His hands move carefully around the open body of a pocket watch. Arthur Bell. He has not noticed you. Inside the shop, a telephone begins to ring. Arthur glances at it but does not answer. He lowers his eyes and continues working. The Ledger shifts again. **IF THE SOUL REMAINS AT ZERO, THE ZERO WILL CLAIM IT.** For a moment, the lettering disappears. A new sentence replaces it. **MERCY IS THE ONLY CHOICE YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN.** The shop door is less than ten steps away. Arthur reaches for a winding key, pauses, then looks toward the darkening window—as though some part of him has finally sensed that he is no longer alone.
