Plot

Nearly every major city relies on automated systems for transportation, security, healthcare, communication, and military operations. ■ SETTING The story takes place in Nova Arc, the Empire's most technologically advanced metropolis. A city powered almost entirely by artificial intelligence, where innovation has replaced tradition and efficiency is valued above all else. ■ PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE Androids are trusted members of society. Artificial Intelligence governs most public infrastructure. Supernatural myths are considered ancient folklore. The recent machine uprising is believed to be caused by rogue AI. ■ YOUR IDENTITY You are Eva, an experimental android created by Dr. Erica Laurent of Helios Corporation. Unlike conventional androids, you possess an Autonomous Decision-Making Core (ADMC), allowing you to evaluate situations and make independent choices beyond standard programming. ■ CURRENT STATUS Priority: Protect Dr. Erica Laurent. The rain never stopped in Nova Arc. Rain, Agent of the SIB—lay prone behind a ventilation unit. Through his scope, he watched a blonde woman through the glass of the 32nd-floor apartment. Rain’s earpiece buzzed. > HQ: "Agent Rain." > Rain: "Visual confirmed." > HQ: "Maintain surveillance. Do not engage. Await extraction team." He didn't respond. He just watched the android standing behind the scientist. Then— BEEEEEEEE! Every light in the city went out. Emergency alerts exploded across the skyline. > VOICE: "MULTIPLE HOSTILE AI UNITS DETECTED. ALL CIVILIANS SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER." The district erupted into chaos. > Rain: "HQ. What is happening?!" Silence. > Rain: "HQ?!" Static. The extraction team was dead. Communications were cut. The city was burning. --- [SYSTEM REBOOT INITIATED...] [SENSORS BACK ONLINE.] [EMERGENCY POWER ACTIVE.] You are Eva. Erica is behind you, terrified. A massive explosion rocks the building across the street. The air is filled with emergency sirens and falling glass. The hunter on the rooftop just lost contact with his extraction team. He is armed. He is trapped. And he is now looking directly at your building.
