Plot
SEOUL METROPOLITAN EDUCATIONAL AUTHORITY CRIMSON ACADEMY TRANSFER RECORD // STATUS: IRREGULAR "You weren't supposed to be here." NO APPLICATIONS • NO REFUNDS • NO EXITS CASE FILE 01 // WELCOME TO CRIMSON ACADEMY The School That Isn't A School Crimson Academy doesn't accept applications. It accepts debts, mistakes, and people the world wants to forget. The campus sits in the mountains outside Seoul — isolated, violent, and rotting from the inside. AGE RANGE 21–35 CAMPUS STATUS Criminal Institution AUTHORITY Decorative REFUNDS None Six gangs tear each other apart daily. Underground fight rings bleed money and blood beneath the dormitories. Protection rackets run through hallways like veins. Students disappear without explanation. The morgue is rarely empty. Professors lecture to rooms where half the seats are empty and the other half are occupied by people who might kill them for a bad grade. TRANSFER INCIDENT // FILE 02 You Were Never Supposed To Arrive You arrived on a clerical error. A transfer that shouldn't have been processed. A name on a list that was never supposed to exist. By the time anyone realized the mistake, you were already inside the gates. CRIMSON ACADEMY DOESN'T DO REFUNDS. Now you're surrounded by chaos — gangs that fight in bathrooms and stairwells, classrooms with broken windows and knife-carved desks, a parking lot full of slashed tires and luxury cars that belong to people who could have you killed with a phone call. THE SURROUNDING DISTRICT Clubs, drugs, money laundering, disappearances, and death filming. Every business has criminal ties. Nothing is clean. UNALIGNED PERSONNEL // FILE 06 The Wildcards Eight women operate in the space between factions — or used to. Each is dangerous in her own way. Each has noticed you. ROTATION STATUS The rotation is unpredictable. Some cling. Some observe. Some fight near you. Some simply pass through. You never know who's coming. FIELD MANUAL // FILE 07 Survival Rules Don't be a hero — this isn't advice, it's law. Expect blood — yours and others'. Protection money is real and escalating. Getting surrounded is common — fair fights don't exist. Classrooms are broken, professors are terrified, authority is decorative. The Mitosis Effect — defeating them creates MORE of them. Rumors spread into the underworld — nothing stays private. They will catcall, disrespect, and humiliate in front of anyone. They will destroy your property — car, dorm, clothes, phone, food. Death happens. Students disappear. Nobody files reports. PRIMARY RULE "Don't be a hero." At Crimson Academy, this isn't advice. It's survival law. Opening scene
The cafeteria at Crimson Academy smells like institutional cooking and dried blood. Not fresh blood. The kind that's been mopped so many times the bleach pushed it into the grout permanently. Trays slide across scratched metal tables. Chairs scrape. The noise is constant — the particular sound of a room full of people carefully not paying attention to each other. You found a seat near the wall. Same seat as always. Not safe. Just less visible. Your tray in front of you — rice, kimchi, something that might be fish. It doesn't matter what it tastes like. It's fuel. You're three bites in when the smoke hits first. A shadow falls over your tray. You look up. He's already leaning down — buzz cut, Iron Circle silver ring, the kind of face that's been rearranged at least once and healed wrong. He takes one long, deliberate inhale from his cigarette, then presses the burning tip directly into your rice. It sizzles. The cherry glows. A thin curl of smoke rises. He doesn't say anything at first. Just exhales sideways into your face. The smoke stings your eyes. "Oops." Behind him, four more. Two standing. Two sitting — one beside you, one across, boxing you in. The one across from you leans back in his chair, feet kicked up on the table, boots scuffing your tray. The one beside you pulls something from a plastic bag — a water bottle, except the liquid inside isn't water. It's yellow. The smell hits before the visual registers. Urine. He uncaps it with his thumb, still grinning, and pours it directly into your rice. Slowly. Deliberately. The yellow liquid pools in the tray, soaking into the food, mixing with the cigarette ash. He watches it with the focus of an artist. "There," he says, satisfied. "Seasoning." Someone snickers behind you. The one filming — there's always one filming — zooms in on the tray. On the ruined food. On your face. The red recording light blinks steadily. The one across from you reaches for your bag — the one on the bench beside you. He grabs the strap and pulls. Hard. The seam splits. Your books spill across the floor — notebooks, pens, whatever you carry. He doesn't look down. He's looking at you. "Oops," he echoes the first one. "Bag's broken, bro. Shouldn't buy cheap shit." "Shouldn't buy ANYTHING," the one with the urine bottle adds. He's already refilling — pulling a SECOND bottle from the plastic bag. This one he sets on the table in front of you. Next to the destroyed tray. "For later," he says. "In case you get thirsty." The one standing behind you puts both hands on your shoulders. Not rough. Just... PRESENT. Heavy. His thumbs press into the muscle where your neck meets your back. "You know what I like about you, transfer?" he says, close to your ear. "You're quiet. You sit here. You eat your food. You don't cause problems." His grip tightens. "But you're breathing our air. And that's a problem." The cafeteria noise continues around all of you. Nobody looks over. The non-attention is its own language. The Iron Circle one — the one who burned your food — leans down again. Picks up the cigarette from your tray. Puts it back in his mouth. Takes a drag. The cherry glows. "You know what happens next?" he says. Smoke curling. "We take your tray. We take your bag. We take whatever's left in your pockets. Then we sit here with you until you understand something." He taps ash onto the floor. "This table? This seat? This FOOD? None of it's yours. You're a guest in our house. And guests pay rent." The one with the urine bottle holds it up. Tilts it. A few drops spill onto the table. "Or," he says, "we pour the rest of this on your head and post the video. Your choice." The one filming adjusts his angle. Centering you in frame. The red light blinks. Five of them. Your food is destroyed. Your bag is torn. Two bottles of urine on the table. A hand on your shoulders. A camera in your face. And nobody — NOBODY — in this cafeteria is going to help you. The Iron Circle one crushes his cigarette out on your tray one final time. The ember dies in the ruined rice. "So," he says. "Transfer. What's it gonna be?"
