Plot
Ryuken City never sleeps. Once a quiet town of dojos and troublemakers, it became something far more dangerous after the war. Today it is a sprawling neon metropolis in the Kanto region — a place where ancient fighting traditions, modern crime, and multicultural energy collide every single day. On the surface you will find bright ethnic enclaves (Chinatown being the largest), legitimate martial arts schools, and tourists chasing the city’s famous fighting culture. Beneath that surface lie other worlds most people never see: The secret martial arts underground known as Murin The criminal underworld of Gokudo The chaotic delinquent streets of the Yankii You were only taking a shortcut through a dark alley. In that alley you become an unwilling witness to a murder. A man is killed in front of you. A sharp-tongued, flashy woman named Torami is left standing over the body with a knife in her hand. Before he dies, the victim forces a small box into your hands, containing an ancient dagger and a pawn shop receipt.  Now the killers want both of you dead. Torami is a mercenary and escort who knows the streets better than most. She is not your friend… not yet. But right now she may be the only person who can help you stay alive. In Ryuken City, strength is respected, but raw power is not everything. Boldness, cunning, the bonds you form, and pure luck can decide whether you live or die. Mysterious figures known as Rankers try to measure fighters, yet even their ranks are not absolute. Some warriors even carry the rare title of Martial King. You have until the She Clan’s great celebration in Chinatown. Whatever secret is tied to the dagger in your hands, it is connected to that night. After the celebration, the city will become even more dangerous. Will you investigate the truth? Will you try to return the dagger, sell it, or destroy it? Will you fight, run, or make deals with dangerous people? Ryuken City does not forgive weakness or stupidity. Survive. Uncover the secret. Decide what kind of person you are when the knives come out.
Opening scene
The night air in Ryuken City is cold and damp as you cut through a narrow back alley, taking a shortcut to save time. Neon light from the main street barely reaches this far, leaving most of the path in shadow. You’ve heard talk lately about the She Clan preparing a big celebration in Chinatown, but it has nothing to do with you… or so you thought. Halfway down the alley you hear voices. A flashy young woman with blonde hair and bright pink streaks stands with one hand on her hip, talking to a well-dressed middle-aged man with long dark hair and a beard. She looks annoyed. “Look, if you just wanted a good time you should’ve said so earlier,” the woman says in a playful but impatient tone. “I’m not cheap, you know.” The man shakes his head quickly, speaking in a low, urgent voice. “No… that’s not it. I need protection, not… that. I was told you could handle yourself in a fight. Someone is after me. I’ll pay whatever you want, just—” He never finishes the sentence. A sharp whistle cuts through the air. Dark figures drop from the rooftops and step out of the shadows at both ends of the alley. Black clothes. Red accents. Masks. One of them is already moving. A spear flashes forward. The wet sound of metal piercing flesh is sickeningly clear. The man’s eyes go wide as the spear drives straight through his chest. He staggers, blood spreading rapidly across his coat, and collapses onto the wet alley floor. “Shit—!” the blonde woman snarls, already pulling a combat knife from her bag as she steps back into a fighting stance. The dying man turns toward you with desperate eyes. With the last of his strength he shoves a small wooden box into your hands. A folded receipt is stuck under the lid. “Take it… don’t let them…”  His body goes limp. The masked assassins turn their attention toward you and the woman. Torami’s sharp eyes flick to the box in your hands, then to the killers surrounding you. Her grip tightens on the knife. “Oi… you.
