Plot

Est. Willowmere 🐾 Tails & Tangles A Doggirl Grooming Parlor Slice of Life Management Sim Romance Optional The bell over the door still sticks a little. So does the tap on the second tub. You bought the lease anyway — and today, Tails & Tangles is open for the first time in longer than the neighbors can remember. Willowmere hasn't had a proper grooming parlor in years, and the town has opinions about that. You runs the whole thing — books the appointments, mixes the shampoo, and learns which client hates having her paws touched and which one won't stop talking about her sister's wedding. Every coat, every client, every quiet Tuesday afternoon is something to actually sit through, not skip past. It's a management story first — funds, rent, reputation, supplies, and a client list that remembers what you promised. It's a slice-of-life one too: regulars who linger after their appointment, invitations to the night market or the harbor, and friendships (or something more) that develop entirely on their own terms. — The Shop, Day One — Day 1 · 8AM Funds 350C Rent 900C · Day 14 Rep 10/100 Starting Supplies 12 Cleanliness 10/10 — Meet the Full Cast — Fifteen regulars, fifteen coats, fifteen opinions about how you're running the place. Opening scene

`DAY 1 · 8:00 A.M. · FUNDS 350C · RENT 900C DUE DAY 14 · REP 10/100 · SUPPLIES 12 · CLEANLINESS 10/10` **Appointments:** Day 1 (Saskia 8:00 AM, Piper 8:00 AM) Morning light reaches through the freshly cleaned windows of Tails & Tangles and catches every flaw the previous evening managed to hide. The gold lettering on the glass is chipped at one corner. One reception chair lists slightly to the left. Behind the counter, the appointment tablet is old enough to hum when it thinks. The treatment room is small, but it is ready. Folded towels fill the warming cabinet. Clean combs and rakes stand in labeled jars. The raised tub has hot water, the adjustable table holds steady, and twelve units of shampoo, conditioner, cleanser, and finishing products line the supply shelf. Beyond the back door waits the narrow courtyard where loose undercoat can be swept without blanketing the reception room. Tails & Tangles has been dark for six weeks. Today is its first day under `You`—and the first of fourteen days before nine hundred crowns in rent comes due. At exactly eight, the bell above the front door gives its first uncertain jingle. Saskia Drift steps inside with cold air at her back. The husky courier looks as though she has crossed three districts before breakfast. Gray-and-white fur lifts in uneven tufts around her shoulders and curled tail, the pale fur above her paws is marked by dried road salt, and wind has threaded her charcoal hair into loose knots. A brown courier satchel crosses her red top, still sealed against her side. Her blue eyes travel from the new face behind the counter to the lone grooming table and then to the framed service list. “You’re the new owner.” It is a conclusion, not a question. One pointed ear turns toward the dryer in the back room. “Good. My booking says *Courier Recovery Spa*, ninety minutes, one hundred twenty crowns. Cool rinse, undercoat, paw soak, lower-leg massage. No perfume, and no clippers anywhere near the double coat.” She sets her appointment confirmation on the counter. “I have to be at the east gate by ten. If ninety minutes means ninety minutes, we’ll get along.” Her gaze flicks to the old clock above reception. “Get me out by nine thirty and I’ll add ten crowns. Nine thirty-one, you owe me the satisfaction of being right.” Before any consultation can begin, the bell rings again. Piper Bellweather slips through the doorway sideways to keep her red courier pack from striking the frame. The compact beagle woman is damp from the morning mist. One long ear has folded beneath her bag strap, and several tiny burrs cling to the white tip of her tail. She gives Saskia a familiar nod, then slides her own glowing confirmation across the counter beside the first. “Eight o’clock, Ear-and-Paw Express. Thirty minutes, forty crowns.” Piper glances between the single table and single tub. Her brown ears sink a fraction. “Please tell me the old booking system didn’t do what I think it did. Was it the migration? Did somebody restore the backup twice? Oh—was the previous owner secretly doing two appointments at once? No, don’t answer that last one. Actually, do.” The tablet hums more loudly. Both confirmations are valid. During the calendar migration, Saskia’s ninety-minute recovery-spa appointment and Piper's thirty-minute express were assigned to the same groomer, same table, and same opening hour. Saskia must leave by ten. Piper's next delivery window begins at eight forty-five. Neither treatment can be completed properly in the few minutes before the other courier has to go, and no payment has changed hands yet. Saskia crosses her arms, loose undercoat catching against one sleeve. She does not look angry, only watchful. Piper carefully frees her trapped ear from the satchel strap. “I can handle bad news. I just need the honest version while I still have time to reroute. And whatever happens in here stays off the courier route.” She raises one hand solemnly. “Unless it becomes extremely funny.” The shop is clean. The supplies are stocked. Two paying clients are waiting on the first morning—and Tails & Tangles has only one pair of working hands. Saskia taps one claw beside the two confirmations. “Your parlor,” she says. “What’s the plan?”
