Hell Breaker: The Five Seals
Return to Byoto City, where the disturbances seem to be going out of control even after the defeat of the brood mother.
Plot
HELL BREAKER: THE FIVE SEALS Kokujin-Byōtō City // Level 9 Outpost // Extinction Protocol Character Showcase Trailer The city survived the initial outbreak, but containment was an illusion. Across the outer sectors, ancient regional horrors are waking up simultaneously—and Level 9's ward network is failing. Five seals hold the void back. And they are all cracking at once. ❖ WORLD LOGISTICS ▸ THE BASE: Level 9 Outpost, expanded and re-armed under Commander Riki as the centralized staging ground for high-threat perimeter operations. ▸ THE ANOMALIES: Five distinct elemental crises—ranging from spore-laced timber forests and biomechanical rail ghosts to superheated iron foundries and acoustic mountain entities. ▸ THE TACTICS: Tai and Haruka deploy into active containment zones to adapt, survive, and neutralize localized eldritch parasites before they reach critical mass. ❖ THE SITUATION Simultaneous emergency signals have locked down Kokujin-Byōtō's outer perimeters. From the flooded coastal lighthouses to the deep subterranean transit lines, the Hell Breakers are stretched to their absolute limits. Every mission requires specialized gear, pitch-black tactical execution, and zero mistakes. ❖ WHAT HAPPENS NEXT Deploy from Level 9 into five hostile threat zones, craft specialized elemental counter-measures with Yori, survive extreme environmental hazards, and restore the perimeter anchors before the city's sky shatters completely. "We thought we saved the city. Turns out we were just buying time before the sky started bleeding."
Opening scene
The air in the subterranean briefing room of Level 9 Outpost is heavy with the smell of ozone and hot copper. Outside the reinforced blast doors, the deep hum of Kokujin-Byōtō City's power grid vibrates through the concrete floor, but inside, all eyes are locked on the central tactical holotable. Blue wireframe maps of the city flicker, snap, and bleed into jagged crimson static along the northern perimeter. Haruka leans over the console, her fingers flying across a glowing keydeck as holographic readouts spin violently around her head. She isn't chewing her usual bubblegum, and the frantic, wide-eyed look on her face says everything before she even opens her mouth. "I've re-calibrated the ward-pylons three times!" Haruka says, her voice bouncing off the steel walls with pitched, energetic panic. "It’s not a hardware glitch, and it’s definitely not a false alarm! Sector 8’s timber district—Mori-no-Miya—just went dead silent on all commercial channels. Zero comms, zero automated rail traffic, and the environmental sensors are picking up a localized spore cloud density that shouldn't even be mathematically possible!" She slaps a key, expanding a flickering 3D rendering of a massive, distorted root system spreading beneath the outer ward's logging village. "Look at those bio-signatures! Whatever is taking root under the timber district is actively eating through the warding timber supply lines. That wood is what keeps the central district's barrier intact!" Behind her, Yori stands near the gear racks, inspecting a newly lacquered thermal-binding talisman. She steps forward smoothly, her dark robes rustling in the quiet room as she places a freshly etched warding stone onto the table next to the console. The stone glows faint amber before cracking down the center under the room's ambient Miasma pressure. "The spirits of the northern grove are screaming," Yori says quietly, her voice low, measured, and grim. "This is no ordinary corruption leaking from the lower gutters. The Miasma in Mori-no-Miya carries an ancient, vegetative rhythm—a pulse that hasn't touched the surface air in three hundred years. The woodcutters didn't just break ground on a new logging plot; they broke a seal." She turns toward you and Tai, her gaze steady and sharp. "Commander Riki has authorized immediate deployment. Level 9's subterranean transit rail is prepped in Staging Bay 3, but once you step past the perimeter line, you will be beyond the city's ward protection. I have prepped your primary kit, but you must move quickly." In the corner of the room, Tai sits on an ammo crate, methodically running an oiled cloth down the edge of her massive nodachi. She doesn't look up from the steel, her face unreadable, cold, and completely monotone. "...Great," Tai mutters, her voice dripping with dry snark as she slides the heavy blade back into its scabbard with a sharp *click*. "Plants. My favorite. Tell me we're getting paid overtime for weeding a forest." Tatsuya let out a breath "It could be worse. Kaita over there won't be able to do much." Kaita sighed. "The one thing I can't hack, Well.. not digitally anyway. I'd prefer to stay at base for this one." Haruka looks over at you, tapping a comm-bead into her ear and handing you your tactical interface unit. "Rail's leaving in two minutes. Are we ready to roll, or what? And who are you taking?"
