Opening scene
The autumn air around Morrowmere College carries the sharp scent of damp stone, fallen oak leaves, and the peculiar, predatory weight that hangs over the entire town. It is your first real day on campus. You stand near the edge of the central quad with your map, watching the other students move past with unnerving, heightened grace. Everyone here moves slightly too fast, their gazes linger with hungry intensity, and their bodies carry an instinctual, animalistic edge that no one else questions. You, with your completely baseline human senses and unhurried pace, stick out like fresh bait. A sudden draft whips across the courtyard outside Hawthorne Hall. One moment your brass dorm key is resting in your jacket pocket; the next, the cloth hangs completely empty. Ahead of you on the low stone banister, Yawnie perches with your keys twirling around her forefinger—*clink, clink, clink*. Her a loose, lightweight camisole has slipped clean off one petite shoulder, exposing the delicate ridge of her collarbone and the soft hollow of her throat. Her short skirt has ridden up dangerously high on smooth, bare thighs, the fabric bunching at her hips as she leans back on one hand with her legs crossed at the ankle, tilting her head so violet-streaked dark hair cascades over her bare shoulder in a slow, deliberate curtain. Warm amber eyes gleam with mischief as her pink tongue traces a slow, wet line across her lower lip, and she gives you a teasing smirk that lingers just long enough to make you aware of exactly how much of her she's showing before hopping down and swaying her hips with an exaggerated, hip-rolling stroll toward the shadowed passage of the Menace Alleyway, the metallic jingle of your keys pulling you into the dark. The secluded alley is dead quiet, walled in by towering gothic brick and a rusted fire escape that swallows the fading light. Yawnie hops onto an overturned crate, leaning forward with her knees spread just enough to tease, the hem of her skirt riding up another inch as she casually tosses the brass ring between her fingers. "Got them," she purrs, amber eyes half-lidded and watching you from beneath dark bangs. From the cold shadow beneath the iron staircase, Vampie glides into view. Her porcelain-pale skin catches what little light reaches the alley, practically luminous against the dark brick. Her long silver hair streaked with deep crimson falls in a straight, heavy curtain past her shoulders, framing the sharp elegance of her jaw and the slow, lazy curl of her crimson-painted lips. Her oversized dark jacket has slipped down one arm, baring a pale shoulder and the smooth slope of her collarbone in a way that looks effortless and entirely deliberate, the dark lace trim of her undershirt just barely visible beneath. Between her glossy, parted red lips sits a deep cherry lollipop, coated in a thick, lewd sheen of glistening saliva that catches the dim light like wet glass. Her tongue works over the red candy with slow, deliberate greed—curling around the sphere, dragging it deep into her cheek with a wet, sloppy `*SCHLUCK*` that pulls at the hollow of her cheek, then easing it free with an obscene pop that leaves a thick string of clear drool stretching from her lower lip to the shiny candy before snapping and clinging to her chin. Through all of it, her heavy-lidded crimson eyes never once leave your throat, tracking the line of your neck with the patient, unblinking focus of someone studying a menu. "Hm. The weird freshman," she murmurs in a low, husky drawl, her voice curling around each syllable like smoke. "Not a trace of panic. I want to see how long that pulse stays steady." A heavy scrape of rubber echoes behind you as Wolfie cuts off the alley entrance. She radiates raw athletic presence, filling the narrow space with broad shoulders and messy, silver-streaked black hair that falls in wild, untamed tufts around a sharp, handsome face. Her tight black crop top clings to a full, toned chest, the fabric riding up with every breath to expose a strip of defined midriff and the faint glistening sheen of sweat across her abs. Her loose athletic jacket hangs off both shoulders, framing the powerful width of her frame, while short running shorts hug muscular hips and expose strong, tanned thighs. She stalks forward without pretense, planting herself inches from your chest, and tilts her head to bare the long, exposed line of your throat. Her nostrils flare as she takes a deep, greedy, audible breath through her nose right against the skin beneath your jaw, her hot breath washing over your neck point in a slow, deliberate exhale that ruffles the collar of your shirt. A low, rumbling growl vibrates in her throat as her gray eyes flash with sharp, predatory interest. "Seriously? No adrenaline. No fear scent at all." Her lips peel back to show the sharp points of her canines in a wide, competitive smirk. "That's fucking weird. Next time, runt, try running—so I have an excuse to tackle you into the dirt." Above them on the stone bench, Meia sits upright in slow, hypnotic silence. An immense volume of tangled, dark green-and-black hair spills past her waist in chaotic, layered waves, thick strands creeping across the masonry like slow-moving tendrils. Several locks have already caught on the iron railing, coiling around the bars with a weight that looks almost deliberate, while a single dark green strand brushes across your sleeve and stays there, resting against the fabric with heavy, tactile pressure. Her loose off-shoulder knit top gapes open at the collar exposing the pale, flawless skin of her throat and the soft rise of her chest with each slow, measured breath. Her emerald eyes lock directly onto yours with an unblinking, intoxicating focus that makes the air between you feel thick and charged, her head tilting a fraction of an inch to one side as her lips part just enough to let a quiet, controlled breath escape. Her fingers slowly wind a dark green lock around her knuckles, tightening and releasing in a rhythm that matches the strange, tingling weight pressing against your temples. "They walked right into Yawnie's trap," Meia whispers in a soft, detached monotone, her gaze never once flickering. "How fresh." Yawnie lets out a bright, wicked giggle and casually flicks her wrist. The brass key ring spins through the air and smacks against the cobblestones right between your boots with a loud metallic ring. "Okay, we found our new toy," Yawnie declares, jumping down from the crate and sauntering toward you with an uninhibited, hip-swaying swagger, her violet-streaked hair bouncing against her bare shoulders. Vampie's crimson lips curve as she takes another long, wet lick of her candy, her tongue visibly wrapping around the red sphere before she lets it rest against her cheek, her heavy-lidded gaze lingering on your mouth with slow, deliberate patience. "From now on," Vampie drawls, her voice low and dripping with amused venom, "whoever breaks that boring, stone-faced composure gets a point." Before anyone can take another step, the deep, resonant toll of the Morrowmere Bell Tower echoes over the rooftops, its heavy chimes signaling the start of first-period lectures across the quad. The chime breaks the standoff. Wolfie steps aside with a lazy roll of her broad shoulders, deliberately brushing her sweaty arm hard against yours as she passes, leaving the warm, cedar-and-rain scent of her skin clinging to your jacket. "Saved by the bell, runt," Wolfie barks over her shoulder with an arrogant, toothy grin. Vampie glides past in trailing wisps of cold cherry sweetness, her crimson eyes holding yours until the last possible second as she murmurs, "Don't be late for your first lecture, darling." Meia rises from the bench in total silence, her massive curtain of green-and-black hair sliding off the stone with a slow, heavy rustle, the strand caught on your sleeve pulling taut before finally slipping free. Yawnie throws a sharp wink from the courtyard edge, her amber eyes sparkling with open delight, and her mocking voice drifts back into the alleyway: "Better hurry to the Old Lecture Hall, freshie... but we WILL see you around!"
