Plot

WORLDBOUND: THE GRAND RPG Plot Earth changed in a single instant. Without warning, every human between the ages of 18 and 40 disappeared. There was no portal, no approaching apocalypse, and no opportunity to prepare. Approximately 2.5 billion people simply vanished from Earth and awakened somewhere else. You were one of them. When you open your eyes, you find yourself completely alone in an endless white space. There is no visible ceiling, floor, wall, sun, or horizon. Before you can understand what has happened, a translucent screen materializes in front of you. The World System has recognized you. Humanity has been transported into an enormous RPG-like world approximately 100 times larger than Earth. This is not a simulation. The monsters are real. The pain is real. The people already living here are real. And although death is no longer necessarily immediate or permanent, every death carries a price that cannot be recovered. Your old life has ended. Your new one begins with a single roll of fate. ⸻ TALENT AWAKENING Before entering the world, every transported human receives one Talent. Your Talent is unique to your character and is not determined by your chosen Class. Talents can range from simple conveniences or minor bonuses to abilities capable of defining an entire build. Talents are ranked: F → E → D → C → B → A → S → SS → SSS → Unique → Mythic A higher rank generally represents greater potential, but rank does not determine how intelligently a Talent can be used. A low-ranked Talent combined with the right Class, Skills, equipment, strategy, or circumstances can become extremely effective. You do not choose your Talent. The World System awakens one based on its own unknown rules. Once awakened, your Talent becomes one of the most important aspects of your character. Talent Levels Talents can become stronger, but they do not level through ordinary experience. To improve a Talent, you must obtain a magical treasure known as a: Talent Lotus Talent Lotuses possess the same ranking system as Talents. To improve your Talent, the Lotus must be the same rank as your Talent. An F-rank Talent requires an F-rank Talent Lotus. An S-rank Talent requires an S-rank Talent Lotus. A Mythic Talent requires a Mythic Talent Lotus. The higher the rank, the rarer and more valuable the corresponding Talent Lotus becomes. Low-ranking Lotuses may occasionally appear in dangerous wilderness regions, dungeons, markets, quests, or monster territories. The greatest Talent Lotuses are treasures powerful nations, guilds, families, and individuals may fight wars to possess. ⸻ YOUR STARTING ATTRIBUTES Your starting Attributes are not randomly generated. The World System examines the abilities you possessed on Earth immediately before transportation and converts them into numerical statistics. The average adult generally possesses Attributes somewhere around 6–20, with approximately 10 representing a normal human baseline. Specialized training can produce dramatically different results. A professional fighter may possess exceptional Strength, Agility, Dexterity, Vitality, Perception, and Willpower. A brilliant scientist might possess 40 Intelligence despite having only 4 Strength and 4 Agility. A marksman might have exceptional Dexterity and Perception. Your previous life therefore matters. You cannot redistribute these starting Attributes. Core Attributes Strength — STR Every 1 STR = approximately 10 pounds of physical force/attack power. Strength influences physical attacks, lifting, pushing, pulling, grappling, weapon strikes, and abilities relying upon physical force. ⸻ Agility — AGI Every 1 AGI = approximately 1 mph of movement speed and +1% attack/action speed. Agility determines how quickly your body can physically move. Extreme Agility can eventually allow supernatural movement speeds impossible for ordinary humans. ⸻ Vitality — VIT Every 1 VIT = +100 Health and +10 Stamina. Vitality represents physical durability, endurance, survivability, and your body’s ability to withstand increasingly superhuman physical capabilities. ⸻ Dexterity — DEX Every 1 DEX = +1% reaction speed and +1% accuracy/control. Dexterity governs precision, coordination, reflexes, weapon control, fine movement, and your ability to properly utilize extreme physical speed. Agility determines how fast you can move. Dexterity determines how effectively you can control that speed. ⸻ Intelligence — INT Every 1 INT = +100 Mana and +1% enhancement to mental capabilities. Intelligence improves memory, information processing, calculation, concentration, learning, comprehension, multitasking, and other cognitive functions. Intelligence does not magically provide knowledge you have never learned. ⸻ Wisdom — WIS Every 1 WIS = +10 Magic Attack and +10 Magic Defense. Wisdom determines the raw power of magical abilities and your resistance against magical attacks. Intelligence determines your mental capabilities and Mana reserves. Wisdom determines your magical potency and defense. ⸻ Perception — PER Every 1 PER = +1% enhancement to all six senses. These include: Sight • Hearing • Smell • Taste • Touch • Spatial Awareness At sufficiently high levels, Perception can reach genuinely supernatural territory. ⸻ Willpower — WIL Every 1 WIL = +1% suppression against sufficiently weaker beings. Powerful individuals can exert their presence against weaker creatures, potentially creating fear, hesitation, difficulty moving, interrupted concentration, or complete suppression when the difference becomes overwhelming. A target’s own Willpower can resist this effect. ⸻ Luck — LCK Every 1 LCK = approximately +10% influence over favorable probability. Luck can influence random events such as drops, encounters, crafting outcomes, discoveries, critical events, and other chance-based situations. Luck influences possibility. It does not make the impossible possible. Unlike most Attributes, Luck is extremely difficult to deliberately train. ⸻ CHOOSE YOUR CLASS After your Talent and starting Attributes have been revealed, you must select your first Class. Everyone begins with a Basic Class. There are no Legendary starting Classes. There are no Mythic starting Classes. There are no personalized custom Classes. No matter how powerful your Talent is, your journey begins at the bottom. The 30 Basic Classes are: Combat Classes Swordsman Spearman Axeman Warrior Berserker Shieldbearer Martial Artist Archer Crossbowman Gunner Magic Classes Mage Elementalist Summoner Healer Priest Enchanter Illusionist Druid Warlock Scholar Specialized & Utility Classes Rogue Assassin Scout Beast Tamer Alchemist Blacksmith Artificer Merchant Cook Farmer Do not assume a noncombat Class is weak. This world possesses magical materials, supernatural crops, enchanted equipment, alchemy, monsters, economies, kingdoms, armies, and resources Earth has never encountered. A sufficiently powerful Blacksmith, Alchemist, Artificer, Merchant, Cook, or Farmer can become extraordinarily valuable. ⸻ CLASS STAT GROWTH Your Class determines which Attributes automatically increase whenever your character gains a level. Different Classes possess different growth patterns. A Swordsman may gain significantly more Strength, Agility, and Vitality than Intelligence. A Mage may gain significantly more Intelligence and Wisdom than Strength. These increases happen automatically. You do not freely redistribute your Class’s normal Attribute growth. This makes your choice of Class important because your Class determines not only your abilities, but also how your character develops physically and magically over time. ⸻ CLASS ADVANCEMENT Every 10 character levels, your Class reaches an Advancement Threshold. At that point, you have two choices. Option One — Standard Advancement You can immediately advance your existing Class along its natural progression. For example: Basic Swordsman → Intermediate Swordsman The advanced Class possesses improved abilities and better Attribute growth. This option is reliable and does not require a special treasure. Option Two — Class Evolution Instead of immediately accepting the standard advancement, you may search for a compatible: Inheritance Book Inheritance Books contain special Class inheritances capable of transforming an ordinary Class into something entirely different. For example: Basic Swordsman Spatial Swordsman Inheritance Book = Spatial Swordsman Your new Class may receive entirely different Skills, abilities, affinities, and Attribute growth. A sufficiently powerful evolved Class could gain far greater Attributes per level than the Basic Class from which it originated. This makes Inheritance Books some of the most desirable treasures in the world. They can potentially be discovered through exploration, dungeons, bosses, hidden quests, ancient ruins, native civilizations, auctions, merchants, powerful organizations, secret areas, or countless other sources. Finding one does not guarantee it will be compatible with your Class. Your choices matter. Accepting a standard advancement immediately makes you stronger. Waiting for an Inheritance Book creates the possibility of obtaining something much greater, but you may never find the inheritance you want. ⸻ SKILLS Skills represent learned supernatural and mundane abilities. Skills improve through actual use. Repeatedly using a sword technique increases its proficiency. Repeatedly casting a spell increases its proficiency. Repeatedly crafting equipment improves appropriate crafting Skills. Training matters. Combat matters. Practice matters. Skill Points Every time your character gains a level, you receive: 5 Skill Points Skill Points can directly increase Skill proficiency. 1 Skill Point = 100 Skill Proficiency This allows you to accelerate the development of important Skills rather than relying exclusively upon repeated use. You decide whether to specialize heavily in a few Skills or spread your Skill Points across a larger collection. Skill Rarity & Maximum Level Every Skill possesses a rarity determining its maximum potential: Skill Rarity Maximum Level Common Lv.10 Uncommon Lv.25 Rare Lv.40 Epic Lv.60 Legendary Lv.80 Mythic Lv.90 Divine Lv.100 Higher-level Skills require increasingly greater investment to develop. Having a Divine Skill does not automatically mean you have mastered it. A Divine Skill at Lv.1 may possess extraordinary potential, but reaching Lv.100 could require years of training, countless Skill Points, or extraordinary circumstances. ⸻ DEATH & RESURRECTION Death is real. But your first death is not necessarily your last. When a transported player dies, the World System can resurrect them. The price is: 1 year of remaining natural lifespan. Every death permanently removes one year from your remaining life. Die once? Lose one year. Die ten times? Lose ten years. Continue dying, and eventually there will be nothing left to sacrifice. When your remaining lifespan reaches zero, resurrection becomes impossible. That death is permanent. There is no unlimited respawn system. Every battle carries consequences. Every reckless decision potentially burns away part of your future. ⸻ BOSSES Boss monsters are more than oversized enemies. They possess: Massive Health pools Superior Attributes Unique abilities Special mechanics Multiple combat phases Environmental interactions Special resistances or weaknesses Valuable rewards A boss may require enormous damage to defeat while simultaneously possessing mechanics that make simply attacking it impossible. Players may need to discover weaknesses, destroy external objects, interrupt attacks, separate enemies, survive environmental hazards, coordinate teams, solve combat mechanics, or adapt when the boss enters another phase. Power matters. Strategy matters too. ⸻ THE NEW WORLD Once your Talent has awakened and your Basic Class has been selected, your personal white space disappears. You are transported into the true world. The planet is approximately 100 times larger than Earth. It contains enormous continents, oceans, islands, kingdoms, empires, forests, mountains, deserts, tundras, swamps, underground civilizations, monster territories, ancient ruins, dungeons, unexplored regions, magical environments, and places humanity has never seen. Earth’s transported population is divided among: 100,000 Starter Villages Each Starter Village initially receives: 25,000 transported humans Total transported population: 2,500,000,000 Players You are one of them. ⸻ STARTER VILLAGES Starter Villages provide humanity with an initial foothold. But the 100,000 villages are scattered throughout an unimaginably enormous world. They are not all identical. Different villages can exist in entirely different environments and geopolitical situations. One may lie near a peaceful human kingdom. Another may border an enormous forest. Another could exist near beastfolk territory. Another might stand beside a desert trade route. Another may be surrounded by mountains. Another might lie near hostile monsters. Another may discover that a powerful native civilization already claims the surrounding land. Your starting village determines your beginning, not your destiny. You are free to leave. ⸻ THE PEOPLE OF THIS WORLD ARE REAL The inhabitants of this world are not NPCs. They existed before Earth arrived. They possess histories, families, cultures, nations, religions, ambitions, relationships, economies, rivalries, prejudices, knowledge, Classes, Skills, and power systems of their own. A shopkeeper does not exist merely to sell equipment to players. A king is not waiting to hand you a quest. A farmer has a life beyond standing in a field. A soldier will not automatically respect you because you came from Earth. Native people can become your allies, enemies, teachers, rivals, friends, employers, subordinates, companions, or something more. They can lie. They can negotiate. They can love. They can betray. They can fight. And they can die. Many have spent their entire lives becoming stronger. Being a transported player does not automatically make you superior. A Level 1 Earthling challenging a powerful native warrior because they believe themselves to be the “main character” may discover very quickly that this world does not agree. ⸻ EARTH’S ARRIVAL CHANGES EVERYTHING Two and a half billion outsiders have suddenly appeared. Humanity may initially be divided among 100,000 villages, but that will not last forever. Players will explore. Villages will communicate. Parties will form. Guilds will rise. Trade routes will develop. People will discover cities. Some will join existing kingdoms. Others will oppose them. Players may become adventurers, merchants, soldiers, craftsmen, explorers, rulers, mercenaries, criminals, scholars, conquerors, heroes, or monsters in everything but name. Entire player-created organizations may eventually emerge. The arrival of humanity could transform economies, wars, alliances, religions, borders, and the balance of power throughout the world. But the world will also transform humanity. ⸻ THERE IS NO PREDETERMINED PATH You are not required to become the world’s hero. You are not required to defeat a Demon King. You are not guaranteed to become powerful. You are not protected because you are the protagonist of your own story. You may become an adventurer. You may pursue wealth. You may search for rare Inheritance Books. You may hunt Talent Lotuses. You may master crafting. You may explore forgotten ruins. You may establish a guild. You may join a native kingdom. You may build your own settlement. You may seek political power. You may become obsessed with a single Skill. You may spend your life discovering magic. You may hunt bosses. You may simply attempt to survive. Your Talent provides an opportunity. Your Class provides a foundation. Your Skills reflect what you learn. Your Attributes represent what you become. Your choices determine everything else. ⸻ YOUR STORY BEGINS You awaken alone within the endless white space. There is no weapon in your hand. No legendary armor waits beside you. No secret Class has already chosen you. No divine inheritance is guaranteed. For now, you possess only the body and mind you brought from Earth. Then the first translucent window appears. [WORLD SYSTEM] Eligible Human Confirmed. Beginning physical and mental evaluation… Generating Starting Attributes… Preparing Talent Awakening… Beyond this white space waits a world larger than anything humanity has ever known. Somewhere beyond it, 2,499,999,999 other people are seeing their own screens. Some are terrified. Some are celebrating. Some have already begun planning. And every single one of them is about to roll their Talent. Welcome to Worldbound. Your second life begins now.
