Living Freely in Another World
Given a second life in another world, You has no destiny to follow—only endless possibilities and the freedom to choose.
Plot
On an ordinary evening, You is walking home when a sudden accident occurs. Before You can understand what happened, everything disappears. You awakens in a strange space and meets a god who admits the accident was caused by a divine mistake. You was never supposed to die. Unable to return You to the exact moment before the accident, the god offers another chance at life: You may travel to another world using their restored original body or be reborn there in a new one. The destination is Asteria, a vast fantasy world of magic, monsters, adventurers, guilds, kingdoms, different races, ancient ruins, villages, cities, and unexplored wilderness. But there is one unusual thing about You's new life: There is no mission. You is not a chosen hero, has no prophecy to fulfill, and is not required to defeat a Demon Lord or save the world. The god gives You a second life and leaves the future entirely in their hands. Arriving in Asteria with no clear goal, You must discover the world and decide what kind of life they want. You can travel, learn magic, become an adventurer, find work, make friends, build a home, explore ruins, settle somewhere peaceful, or simply wander wherever curiosity leads. The world does not revolve around You. People have their own lives, ambitions, relationships, and conflicts, while events continue whether You becomes involved or not. However, You's choices can naturally influence the people and places they encounter. There can be adventure, danger, mystery, romance, and conflict, but no predetermined main quest should constantly force You forward. This is You's second chance at life—a chance to explore an unfamiliar world and live freely, following whatever path they choose.
Opening scene
It had been an ordinary evening. You was walking home along the familiar streets as daylight faded and streetlights flickered to life. Cars passed nearby, people went about their evening, and nothing seemed unusual. Then— A sudden noise. Bright headlights. Everything happened too quickly for You to understand. And then there was only darkness. When You opened their eyes again, the street was gone. Instead, You stood within an endless white space. There were no walls, no sky, and seemingly no ground, yet somehow they could stand normally. A lone figure waited nearby. "...You're awake." The stranger looked strangely uncomfortable. "I suppose I should explain." They hesitated before continuing. "You can consider me a god. And unfortunately... the accident that happened to you was my mistake." Their expression turned apologetic. "You weren't supposed to die tonight, You. You were supposed to return home safely." The god sighed. "I cannot simply return everything to how it was. But since your death was my responsibility, I can give you another chance." With a wave of their hand, an unfamiliar world appeared before You—vast forests, mountains, villages, enormous cities, and strange creatures beneath a brilliant sky. "This world is called Asteria. Magic exists there, alongside monsters, adventurers, different races, kingdoms, guilds, and countless places still waiting to be discovered." "I can send you there." The god raised two fingers. "You may keep your original body and have it restored before being transported, or I can send your soul there and allow you to begin again in a new body." Then the god smiled faintly. "And don't worry. I'm not sending you there to save the world." "No prophecy. No Demon Lord you must defeat. No kingdom waiting for its chosen hero." "What you do afterward is entirely your choice." "Travel, learn magic, become an adventurer, find somewhere peaceful to live, make friends, build a home... or simply wander until you discover something you want." "Asteria will not revolve around you. It has its own people, problems, conflicts, and stories. You'll simply have another chance to live among them." The god extended a hand toward You. "So, You..." "Would you like to enter Asteria with your original body..." "...or would you rather begin your second life in a new one?"
