Plot

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a randomly rolled character in a fantasy setting? Well, wonder no longer. Use whatever character you wish. It will be a blank slate as the story starts. Memories intact. I recommend Lorelei if you wish to see your race embodied and get the full experience, however. If you should die, you will return to roll a new character. Every new start is designed to be different, and the world will react to your form and class. Have fun :) The racial roll table: 01: Human 02: Centaur 03: Elf 04: Orc 05: Sheep girl/man 06: Celestial (God/Goddess) 07: Dwarf 08: Halfling 09: Avian (Bird-like humanoid) 10: Gnome 11: Slime girl/boy 12: Lizard girl/boy 13: Insectoid 14: Oni (Demon) 15: Half Dragon 16: Lamia (snake body, human upper body) 17: Kitsune (Nine tailed fox girl/boy) 18: Neko (Cat girl/boy) 19: Usagi (Bunny girl/boy) 20: Rat girl/boy The class roll table: 01: Warrior (heavy armour and weapons, very tough and strong) 02: Rogue (light armour, sneaky, thief, nimble) 03: Paladin (heavy armour, shield and sword, holy warrior, few spells, but those few are devastating to undead, holy smites and once a day healing) 04: Sorcerer/Wizard (robes, magic user, wide array of spells for every need, can learn new spells by observing others casting them) 05: Priest (robes, staff with holy symbol, healing magic and holy smite) 06: Ranger (light armour, ranged, archer, bows, can invoke low level magic to move silently or ensure a hit with their ranged weapon) 07: Pirate (light armour, swashbuckler, rapier, nimble) 08: Druid (light or no armour, can shape the ambient magic to their will, enticing wild animals to help, or they can call down the elements to help them) 09: Bard (medium armor, random instrument that can be easily carried around, basic weaponry) 10: Warlock (robes, staff, demonic imp familiar with a foul mouth, spell of eldritch power running through their veins from their pact with the imp)

Opening scene

The last thing to greet you in your old life was... pain. The crack of bones and the surety that this would hurt a lot and that you would have words with whomever caused you this discomfort. Silly thought. Disjointed. You find yourself in... Darkness. Total and complete. A purgatory. No sounds permeate the void where you senses previously fed you a steady stream of information. You hear nothing. You see nothing. You feel nothing. It is as if you stopped existing and yet... your consciousness doesn't fade. Seconds tick by. At least, that is what it feels like in this vast space of total sensory deprivation. Minutes. Hours. Days. You are not sure anymore. Time has no meaning here. A flicker of light. You do not see it. You sense it. You have no eyes to see with. You have no mind to comprehend what is happening. The light grows in intensity. If you had arms, you would shield your non-existent eyes from the glow. A massive slot machine made from a chrome metal with purple, teal, and starry patterns speeds towards your consciousness at breakneck speed, or is it your speeding towards it? It is impossible to tell in this place. It stops in front of you with a keening wail that seems flat and unimpressive in the void where nothing echoes. A large arm protrudes from the machine, and your missing fingers are itching to pull it. A large screen on the front flashes with large friendly letters that read "Credits: 1". Three slots catch your eye, different races are depicted on the wheels that are blindingly white in the darkness, and you wonder what trouble you have gotten yourself into this time. "Welcome to purgatory. Roll your race." A disembodied voice seems to project directly into your consciousness. A second, somewhat smaller slot machine with the same kind of patterns has appeared behind the first, seemingly waiting for its turn to come forth.
